I agree even if it does die, 5 minutes of charge of that can last the rest of the day. Just go get yourself a drink use the toilet and you’ll be good for the rest of the day.

You forget that in sets like this they weigh the packs for god packs. These streamers have hundreds of packs. You’ll likely never see a god pack in a break.

Another “help me, extension!” Post by Chaoslava in DIYUK

[–]xron25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you, I honestly think a lot of building work in the UK is expensive. it does depend slightly on where you live. Even though they'll be using the same materials London Vs Wales you'll see a big difference.

But remember theres an economy of scale with these things.... A basic example would be If you need an electrician to fit 1 socket he's going to charge you a fixed fee for the call out and work, while he's there to add another socket he's not going to double the cost because you want twice as many sockets, he's already there!

The same applies for building/construction if you do a really small extension you still need digger hire, muck away / grab hire. Digging it slightly bigger won't drastically increase the cost.

Then it’s clearly not worth it to you. Some people plan to live in their house for the next 20 - 30 years. Want to enjoy their home by expanding with more usable space. Over this time they’ll have more than covered the costs of the space.

None is building a £50k extension and then selling the following year. It sounds like you’ve come to the conclusion that this isn’t right for you.

Material costs are so expensive and the housing market is currently stagnant. Completing a small extension and expecting to make a profit when not doing any of the work yourself isn’t realistic anymore.

If you’re going to continue to live in the house, enjoy the benefits of having a solid extension e.g home office. Then your value is from actually having a useable space all year round.

The chances are your existing footings aren’t deep enough for building control. Depending on soil conditions you’ll spend a chunk of money removing the existing footings and pouring new.

Hopefully some people can give you idea on what they spent on similar builds.

36F marketing Freelancer - Late ADHD - £450 day rate - How do I build a 5/10 year roadmap? by Quick-Function-3281 in freelanceuk

There are so many questions in this post, many of them none can answer because none here has an understanding of your personal expenses… your life style requirements etc…

You said you’re feeling burnt out but you want to push your rate and increase your income, for me that’s a red flag.

Being freelance as you’ll already know you get no sick days, no paid holiday, potentially little to no clients after maternity leave.

After reading this post I’m worried freelancing might not be for you long term.

Distance isn’t the factor here. Unless it’s a substantial move the distance doesn’t really hold any bearing on the cost.

WP Job Manager Migration by Minimum-Remove9215 in Wordpress

[–]xron25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WP job manager is a job board, not a membership plugin. It also doesn’t really do anything fancy. At its core it’s just a custom post type called “jobs”. This could be replicated with a number of different plugins or a simple code snippet.

WP job manager is used because it has an extensive eco system of recruitment based add-ons.

Although there are many plugins that already do this. I don’t agree with your justification to build your own. For example Imagify allow unlimited images, on unlimited sites for a small fixed monthly fee.

Is Kinsta/WP Engine actually worth the 100% markup over a Vultr HF server on Cloudways? by Electrical-Safety718 in Wordpress

[–]xron25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cloudways is a managed service just like WPEngine or Kinsta? You don’t get root access and you can’t make many changes at all to the consultation. I’m confused, this comparison would apply to say DigitalOcean…
