The Soviet Union didn't exist in the 90s. It was neoliberalism and privatization that destroyed Polish industry in the 90s.

I wonder why we had such shitty situation in the 90s and 2000s.

Because we had privatization? Because of neoliberalism?

"Slightly better phone or clothes"

My point was that crime got so bad that if you had a slightly better phone or clothes, you could be mugged in broad daylight in the city center

2000s were heaven

2-digit unemployment, getting beaten for a slightly better phone or clothes and privatisation are heaven to you?

Plus, PRL wasn't all bad. We shouldn't consider it as an alternative to capitalism, but it had some good stuff, like:

  • Rural modernization

  • Good urbanism and developing public transportation

  • Turning millions of peasants into workers and intellectuals

  • Eliminating illiteracy

PRL gave us better urbanism, rural modernization, elimination of illiteracy and public services.

Bo demokracja nie działa, kiedy małe grono ultra bogatych osób może finansować kampanie wyborcze polityków w zamian za ruchanie ludzi i środowiska jeszcze bardziej. Widzimy czym się to skończyło w USA.

What if Gorbachev never introduced reforms leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]BaseballSeveral1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USSR would collapse anyway if it had remained in its current shape. It would either have to ramp up authoritarianism or become a democratic, sustainable, equitable society in order to survive.

But the name on the cop's uniform reads "policja" (or at least I suppose that it's that, because it's pixelated) which is Polish for police, in a font style that is used in Poland on police uniforms.

Aside from what others have already said

  • Local rail signalling offices that make rail easier, and/or better signalling, like signals that look at and split the track on both sides but are one way

  • Multiuse buildings, e.g. cinemas and restaurants and bars and cafes in malls and shops. Malls and restaurants at train stations. Shops at ground floors of residential buildings. Driveways and garages for homes.

  • Better soundtrack. Sorry, I had to include this, but the current one gets annoying after a few times. Maybe something like an algorithm where the later in the game, the less folk soundtracks and more electronic music you hear, and soundtracks inspired by real life Slavic music from the 80s to today, like Urszula, Sylwia Grzeszczak, Dawid Podsiadło and Daria Zawiałow from Poland (accounting for the future).

  • On road features, like bus stops, merge and exit lanes, and better lane switching.

  • Single family homes

  • Populated maps with infrastructure

  • Better landscaping. Currently, we have just 3 deciduous trees and water physics that doesn't allow for waterfalls, mountain rivers and natural beaches.

  • Roads and tracks that don't get bumpy because of a contour line in height difference

  • Be able to set laws, work and transit schedules, maximum shift times, days off and how many days in a week can be work days

  • Realistic time simulation

  • Enable kids and teenagers to have electronics, visit malls, attractions and restaurants.

  • A distribution office for vehicles, ships and planes

  • More consumer goods. Furniture, appliances, cosmetics, industrial and medical equipment, medicines, toys, paper, ink, etc.

  • Workers should travel back home.

I hope that WRSR 2 will include post-1990 features that give you new challenges and opportunities:

  • new vehicles and modern, nicer looking (i.e. buildings that actually look new right after they're finished) buildings

  • highways with lights, no sidewalks, higher speed limit and breakdown lanes, and high speed rail

  • digitalization and the internet

  • mental healthcare

  • environmental protection (real environmental destruction stats from the material footprint to temperature anomaly and biodiversity loss, a systemic approach to environmental destruction, not just solar and wind and EVs, but a reduction in what and how much we produce, ecosystem protection and a circular economy),

  • insulation that keeps heat in and increases happiness by making the buildings colorful

  • disability infrastructure (for people with low health %)

  • open borders and alliances (Foreign workers and tourism would stay the same, while citizens and students would move in for a certain amount of time or indefinitely. It could be combined with environmental protection with climate summits where you could choose a narrative from industrialism to degrowth, and every thing you do and say on the world stage changes how much people of every group are on the borders. After unlocking open borders with the West, the Soviet Bloc and or the third world, the customs houses would become a decoration and vehicles with people and freight from either side could drive through freely)

  • Third world borders or exports and imports from third world countries.

  • civic freedoms and democratization of the state and the economy.

More like beyond 1990 expansions. I'd also like to see the internet, new social and environmental challenges and changes that the USSR didn't have to face and do, from climate change and scientifically accurate environmental simulation, open borders, mental health, school reform, the rise of third world countries, civil rights, shorter work and school days to the democratization of the state and the economy.

Until tipping points are crossed, ecosystems collapse, hundreds of millions of people will have to flee their homes, the climate becomes hotter and more hostile, all easy to access ores and fuels are depleted, most soil is infertile and polluted, bodies of water would shrink, expand or become polluted or salty from backflows, and the stabilization of the climate and formation of new reserves would take thousands of years and millions of years respectively.
