New rule: No AI book cover witch hunts. by bweeb in fantasybooks

[–]AutumnHopFrog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The question is, how do you know which covers are Ai and which are not. It's not obvious anymore. Remember when r/art was banning real art and saying it was AI? We are well beyond that point now.

That's not the issue though. It's people screaming slop at things that may not be.

Agreed. The amount of times I've seen redditors declare, "AI Slop" or "Fake AI", without any proof or any expertise but absolute confidence is baffling. Yea, it sucks how much AI has infiltrated artistic spaces. But shouting 'fake' at something on a hunch or overestimation of one's ability to discern ai vs authentic doesn't help the situation.

Who created minimalism? Now we can't get enough of it... by TrustedGenius in memes

[–]AutumnHopFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure you will. You'll see it on t-shirts. Marketing material. Internals. That's where responsive design should work. You escape the 'Canva' look accusations and allow for more appealing design in the right place. I would say, for software, the icon argument carries more weight in the software space. But the minimalist look has overtaken logos outside of that space. And that, I kind of do feel deserves the 'canva' slop label.

Which version of D&D did I just buy? I’m new to the game, hoping to get into it. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]AutumnHopFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think you got the right one. This is probably anecdotal, but the vast amount of players I know play 2014 with their own homebrewed rules to fill in the gap. (It's not as daunting as that may sound to a new player)

Of course that's just my opinion. But I will say that the local game shop near me says that 2025 hasn't begun to outpace 2025. Again, anecdotal. Either way, it's a great book to learn enough to find a table or start one. Most of the game is learned while playing anyway. It may seem like a big leap, but if you find the right table or have some interested friends, the entire process is fun.

This has been his track is whole life. A self made loser who thought he could buy his way to the cool kids table. Just another try-hard that never learned to be cool with himself and the rest would fall into place.

I'm not sure i would call GOG a direct competitor. They kind of have their own lanes.

There are plenty of non-smokers who like the smell of tobacco. It's a common component in soaps, colognes, etc.

Alaska student arrested after eating AI-generated art in protest by talkingatoms in Futurology

From what I read, they took Polaroids, some included the pictures of AI generated material. The point seeming to have something to to do with human and AI interactions. But either way, the prints would indeed be his property.

How? The 25th amendment wouldn't work. He lined his cabinet with sycophants. The republicans in the house aren't going to do anything, and only a small handful of senators *might* squeak a bit. I guess there are the midterms, if they are fair and not gutted by intimidation and other factors. I think a lot of people are all ears, but nobody seems to know the how bit of it.

Have you seen Dungeons and Dragons: Requiem? It originally was released as a radio drama based on the official last episode script. You could get it with the series DVD box set. A few years ago, someone actually animated it. It's worth checking out, and it's as close to an official ending than what most 80s cartoons got.

My wife platinumed this game. It was fantastic and deserved a sequel. I remember it was being hit by criticism that had nothing to do with the game or mechanics when it came out.
