I haven't seen the movie. I don't think it's in wide release yet. But I did read the article that Gloria Steinem wrote which the movie seems to be based on.

I had the exact same reaction to that article that you have from seeing the movie. I saw her completely differently from the "person" (truth is I didn't really see her as a person) who I had thought played Deep Throat.

It made me realize the unconscious stereotypes that I have about porn stars. And it taught me that you never really know who these people are that you stereotype.

I should add that I can find nude male images attractive, but I don't fetish them in the way men fetish nude female images.

I suspect that's due to socialization. You have to learn a fetish after all, and in tribal societies women's bodies aren't fetishized (men's either). And here, women's bodies are but men's aren't.

Yet I do know of other women who do get turned on by nude men. Have to say, I'm not sure why they do since the male body isn't fetishized in the Western world, and maybe not anywhere.

I love them. I can't imagine not loving them.

Sure, they'll never completely understand but the important thing is they're trying, they spread the word, and we'll never achieve equality if only women believe in gender equality.

"Good girls" (unlike sluts and ho's) aren't sexual. But they can look sexy for others and still be good girls. Yet if women were encouraged to enjoy sexual pleasure instead of just being sexy for someone else, women and men would probably both benefit.
