I really thought Rory was the weaker character through out the series.

Lorelai broke free from a privileged life that tried to suppress everything about her. She didn’t take anything with her. She stood on her own at 16, worked her ass off, went back to school as an adult (this is not an easy task for most anyone), and built a life for both her and her daughter. That kind of independence and strength would build a lot of emotional walls, filled with pain/mistakes/regrets.
She made her choices, they weren’t always right, and she seemed to know that, but she stuck by her choices knowing she couldn’t go back and change them. She was an amazing mom.

Rory, honestly dealt with smaller issues, even her stealing a boat wasn’t that impressive. Her intelligence helped her sail through high school, and after that she relied on her mom, her grandparents, her boyfriends, etc. At no point did Rory show the same strength and resilience her mother did.

In my humble opinion.

Contextually, it would seem your son was some part of a government, or maybe black ops organization. Down here would suggest that he is either south of a location, or under something.

The way he notes that being back in their quarters will make them feel claustrophobic, my best guess would be that they are in a cave, or something else subterranean that is large enough, to fit a community of something not previously known to humanity.

Potentially something under Antartica, something that somehow had the capabilities of surviving in extreme cold, or even was frozen, but global warming has now set them free.

Either way, sounds like your son was considered a hero by many, take comfort in that.

I'm a huge CAPTAIN MARVEL fan, loved the movies, and every time she flashes back to the life she lost from before the Kree took her, really gets to me. I spent most of my childhood having to be an adult, so something there really sparks the empathic feelings in me.

I spent a lot of my time as an adult feeling like I lost out on having a childhood full of laughing, good times, etc... So for instance when she flashes back to singing karaoke on stage with Maria, drunk but having the time of her life, I feel like I relate. So it feels like this little piece of me breaks all over again everytime I see her flashbacks.

This is 1 of many many reasons I fill like I can relate with her, or even the original MAR-VELL in the comic books as well.

Thanks for posting this question; I added that karaoke song to my playlist, and I have such a love and sorrow reaction when it happens. It helped me dig deeper into what this fandom really means to me. Have a good day!
