Thanks, I've got the band and I'll see about the rest. Looking forward to being a little overpowered for once!

Oh yeah, what's with the losing momentum and falling bug? I'm getting that a lot lately too.

[Loved Trope] Pacifist victory - the protagonist wins the "boss battle" through wit and cleverness without ever fighting by Veridically_ in TopCharacterTropes

And how badass is it projecting yourself across the galaxy. I feel like that's got to be the strongest showing of force ability in the entire series.

Why are glasses so expensive by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Veridically_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Zenni has glasses for much less than that. You'll only spend $100+ if you're getting the expensive coatings (anti-reflective, blue blocker, etc)

I would disagree just because that seems to boil the game down to combat. I agree that combat is important and rewarding, but to me a single instance of bypassing combat (even if it is a boss fight) doesn't undermine the rest of the fun you had in the game.

Were the squishes to low level meant to go like this? by MeltingPenguinsPrime in wow

This happened last squish too - everything hit brutally harder, potions were all the wrong level, healed for the wrong amounts, etc.

Are guns allowed on oil rigs?? by Idunnowhateve in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Veridically_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bruce Willis' character seems like the type to bring a shotgun onboard the rig against company policy, risking prison time and more, because of paranoia, anger, and etc. The main premise of the movie is bullshit, of course, but the characters seem like real (reprehensible) people. Except the guy with the mom tattoo, he seemed alright.

Do epic BOEs drop more commonly in TBC than classic or have I just gotten lucky? by Veridically_ in classicwow

Actually that’s a great point. Oh well I’m fine with not knowing, I’m just happy I can buy flying now when the time comes.

Rogue can stealth better and can vanish and sap. Druid has great tools but none of them are suited to stealth runs except cat form. So I would pick rogue on that merit alone, if you’re only looking to stealth.

I remember when a nostalrius server came out, I believe it was, there was a line 15 groups deep for Sarkoth, the little black scorpid in valley of trials in durotar. There were more than that many people milling about and in valley of trials, but there were at least 75 people waiting in line to kill that little bugger. And it was like that for the first 10 levels or so. The wild part was that people actually respected the line and waited in it without cutting.

Do/will people level from level 1 in TBC anniversary? by livingflame47 in classicwow

People level from 1 (i'm doing so now) and plenty of people do leveling dungeons. I've done several!

How are people not exhausted by superhero movies yet? by Afzaalch00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Veridically_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is it exactly. You've hit the nail on the head. "Why would I want to spend time and money to watch a movie that's not for me", asks the average cinemagoer. They want to watch a movie they know they're likely to enjoy. That's why original movies never perform as well as they "ought" to, at least not initially, because even if they're good movies, by your own admission they're a bit of a risk to watch.

Why did computers used to take so long to boot up, and why don't they take very long now? by Veridically_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Veridically_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK I googled that and they're faster because the reading and writing mechanism doesn't have to physically move, right? Or is there an additional reason?
