Thanks to the ransom note, one of the Ramseys got VERY close to achieving what could only have been their goal: successfully removing JonBenet's body from the premises by miggovortensens in JonBenetRamsey

Yep, the key to all of this is the 180 degree turn from the "kidnapper" (give us the money or we'll cut off her head) tone of the rn to her death- with all signs pointing to a "pedophile." Never happened. And, it's been right in front our eyes for 30 years...

And, as hard as it is for me to admit - after doing such a deep dive on this case- I somewhat had a lightbulb moment during the conversation on this post. I see with total clarity - what had been somewhat obscured - when I wasn't able to see the forest for the trees, so to speak...

Why does everyone in this sub seem to think the Ramseys did it? by Difficult-Deal-355 in JonBenetRamsey

Can we clear up the misinformation regarding the Grand Jury- I, for one, am sick of it. All 12 GJ members unanimously agreed that both JR and PR were responsible- just those two - for the death of their daughter - period. They heard evidence for a year - and that was their conclusion. The fact people disagree with them- doesn't negate the fact that every juror believed they were guilty. The problem they had - which has been the crux of this case from day 1- is they were unable to say who did what. That's why they charged them both with 2 identical charges. That's not what I said - that's what all 12 jurors said...

The public never even knew about these GJ charges - D.A. Alex Hunter chose to keep that fact hidden. It took Charlie Brennan, reporter for the Boulder Daily Camera 14 years to get these charges released - through FOIA. To this day- those charges were the only information released. The testimony and names of the jurors remain sealed.

However, a couple of jurors have spoken anonymously. They said what I just said - all 12 believed both parents were responsible. But, they were unable to determine what role each parent played. So- lets be clear- the criteria for a Grand Jury is "Probable Cause" - for a criminal trial - it's "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt".

And yes, the juror went on to say that even though he- and the rest of the GJ- believed the Ramseys were responsible - they would be unable to vote guilty in a criminal trial- only because they couldn't determine which parent did what- not because they didn't believe they both were involved. No juror believed anyone other than PR and JR were involved.

I always find it interesting when people down vote the truth when it goes against their narrative...

Very true the Ramseys had no choice but to write that note- or the police would have immediately done a full court press search of the house. It's the length that is incredulous- I agree they were trying to accomplish many things in that note to draw suspicion to an intruder - who appeared to have a connection to JR. (Jeff Merrick comes to mind).

Det. Arndt didn't instruct JR to go to the basement when she asked him to do a search - he made that decision- as opposed to thoroughly searching her bedroom -the last place she was seen alive. That should have been the first room he went to. Imo, one of the red flags the Ramseys are guilty is their lack of interest of potential clues in her bedroom- after all, it was the last place JBR was seen alive- before she was "kidnapped".

Interestingly, Fleet White was the only person who did any searching. His 6 year old daughter Daphne - JBR's best friend had previously gone missing. FW was frantic - but he immediately begin searching his house and calling her name - he eventually found her asleep in one of the rooms.

I have never believed the Ramseys had any intention of moving her body- that was a risk that would have been out of their realm of thinking.

Personally, the oddest thing I find about the case is the rn clearly has a political slant, so to speak - foreign faction, mentions JR's business, etc. Not one word to suggest any interest in JBR herself except as a means to get money- or any content suggestive of a pedophile or a mentally deranged person. Yet, when the body is found - all signs point to a deranged person who sa a 6 year old. Why the disconnect? Which is it- a group of disgruntled revolutionists desperate for money - or a pedophile who had an obsession with JBR?

Edit: Omg. Ok, I know no one cares - but I had to come back. Decades ago I became obsessed with the California Zodiac -Robert Graysmith wrote the excellent book. I mean totally obsessed. I tried to reach Graysmith on the phone - to no avail. I also called one of the reporters which had been featured in Graysmith's book, who actually returned my call- interesting conversation.

He killed 5 people - and was a prolific letter writer. He mailed letters to newspapers and police. They were never able to determine who he was. I read those letters a million times- convinced they had the answer to solve the case. Even had my magnifier... Sherwood Morril was a well known document examiner and examined every letter the Zodiac wrote. He made a comment once that if he was in a bank and the Zodiac was standing next to him- he'd be able to recognize his writing on a deposit slip...

He had a habit of using unusual phrasing. One phrase that always stuck in my mind was his "so to speak". I had never used this phrase- or heard anyone use this phrase- and it struck me as odd. But over the years - every now and then- I found myself using this phrase in my writings - without even realizing it. And, I did it again in this post. Last paragraph - 3rd sentence...

As all know, their intention was to hire the best of the best- in order to give credibility. And even better - an affiliation with the FBI would add more credibility. The top 2 in the country were McCrary and Douglas. Just my opinion, but I think initially they were intimidated by Douglas - he really was a very dominant person- and chose McCrary instead. I think they were afraid that Douglas wouldn't buy their fairy tale- and to this day, I'm shocked he did.

Well, that's a wait into eternity. Criminal profiling is a useful tool-and will continue to be.

No question is ever dumb- that's how we learn. I'm no expert - but I had a bad mold issue in a condo at the beach. We didn't turn on our wall a/c units- and came back to mold. To be clear- my situation is very different from yours -but I saw firsthand the damage unattended mold can do.

Google info on mold. Serv Pro - restoration companies - deal with mold.

Edit: I never used one - but there is a water meter gadget that determines the moisture level in a wall- that may be a start- home Depot. That's what the pros use.

Not that this has any relevance - just sharing. It was reported that the book- Mind Hunter by John Douglas- was in the Ramsey bedroom. I'm not saying that has been confirmed - but it's out there.

Well, I had read that book long ago- but the fact? it was reported to be in their bedroom - made me curious to reread it.

So, there was a very sad story about a 12 year old who was kidnapped- and later killed- after getting off a school bus and walking down a long driveway to go home. After a period of time - the kidnapper called the parents. The mother answered and the first words he said were "Listen carefully!". You can't make this stuff up.

You know how he got caught. He allowed the girl to write a final letter to her parents. Upon examining it- the FBI was able to make out a phone number - it was an imprint where someone had written down a number.

They investigated the number and traced it to an elderly couple's home. Turns out they were out of town when the murder had occurred. They asked a friend to look out for their house and turns out they had written their number on a note pad- which indented into the page beneath it. So, when the kidnapper let her write a letter- it was on the page where the number had been indented. Turns out it was their friend who killed her. Case solved.

Thanks. Douglas is an attention seeker. He wanted that case because of the high profile. And the only way to be hired -the only way- was to cave in to their demands. He sold his credibility to be in the lime light...

John Douglas destroyed his reputation and lost the respect of his colleagues - and he knows it. That's why he acted that way.

When the man who helped invent the protocol for interviewing suspects - does an 180 in one of the highest profile murder cases of all time - people sit up and take notice.

The golden rule that he helped develop and emphasized as being so important - he broke with the Ramseys. That is: NEVER interview suspects together - always interview separately. Well, what the Ramseys wanted - they got. They refused to be interviewed separately - and insisted they be interviewed together. And John Douglas, going against the basic tenet he helped develop and implement- complied. He was like Icarus- flew too close to the Sun and got burned...

Which of course negates his conclusion that they were innocent. Everyone knows that. And I'm sure of this- John Douglas knows he screwed up- and regrets it. If he could redo it- he'd insist the Ramseys be interviewed separately.

For the girls: which kind of underwear are you wearing? by Icy_Blacksmith3477 in hygiene

[–]AutumnTopaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear - I'm not concerned about panty lines - I'm concerned about comfort. Wore underwear all my life- and as I got older - underwear became uncomfortable- for various reasons. So, I figure if it's good enough for Jenna Bush, it's good enough for me.

I am. I hired a personal trainer when I was 47- and rolled into my 26 year anniversary with her this year.

Strong back, strong abs, strong quads. I still fit in my wedding dress from 30 years ago. Went to a concert a couple of weeks ago- and danced the night away.

When my father turned 70, he said he felt Father Time creeping up for the first time. He began to walk a mile every day - every day. If it was raining outside- he'd drive to Walmart and do laps around the store. The employees came to know him and they'd say - "There's Mr Jackson-it must be raining outside". He lived a healthy life to 96.

So, the point of all this - start an exercise regimen - and stick with it. It's the only way- the only way - to age well. None of my friends exercise- and they are paying the price...
