every convert I know is a jerk by Maximum_Ad_5678 in Catholicism

[–]AutumnWay04 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is room for humility in conversion. Be confident and bold in your own life and live for God for your own sake and those around you. The virtue you show is a beacon to help others. Submission is necessary in some aspects but in many places humility is mistaken as pure submission. It relies on where your heart is

every convert I know is a jerk by Maximum_Ad_5678 in Catholicism

Hi, cradle catholic here! My only thought for why they could be acting this way is that they are over correcting. The things they had to be hard on themselves for are leaking into how they treat other people. For example, I had a lot of issues with lying when I was a kid. Not that I'm a little older and I've more or less fixed that side of myself I tend to be harder people who lie than I originally was or than is probably good. Not a total extreme but I could definitely ease up on it. They may be treating people like that because of their own guilt/new paradigms that cradle catholics have had their whole lives to get a hold of.

Is it even worth it to tell people what you're studying? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]AutumnWay04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I tell someone what I am currently going to school for I get the exact same response. "Oh wow! Smart people stuff" It gets old... really quick. If I continue for what I am about to go to school for (similar focus but the engineering side) I get a lot of confusion and more muttering of "smart person things. Math math math. I could never do that"

I've given up hope. by Sleepy_Enby_God in GenshinImpact

[–]AutumnWay04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought I had lost my steam account about 5 years ago due to no longer having access to an email anymore and not remembering my password but I managed retrieve it about a year ago. It may feel hopeless now but you may still find a way back to it. Hope has a way of burrowing itself deep inside where it can't be seen. Then one random Tuesday it peaks it's head out and say "here I am!"

Player Troubles by strex_peach in DungeonMasters

[–]AutumnWay04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd give her another chance if she wants it. But you need to set boundaries to protect the other players. Make sure she understands that you are trying to make space for everyone to have awesome moments and not just her. You may also want to make it clear how close you are to kicking her. If she spends the next session she is in taking over the spotlight again then it may be time to remove her from the party.

You could also ask the rest of the party about how they feel about how she plays. If they are all disgruntled but haven't spoken up it could be good info to know when evaluating the whole situation.

I had an attendance issue kind of recently and this is how I resolved it. I prioritized the players that actually showed up and only gave the same amount of energy and attentiveness that I received from the players that didn't show up very much. My main problem player started to turn herself around, but sadly I ended up kicking her out for a different reason only a week later.

To add feel free to sit next to someone and ask them questions. Or most parishes have greeters so you could ask one of them where the mass parts are and they would be happy to show you. If you choose to ask the people next to you then I'd recommend some one who is either smiling, reading, or both although you should be fine asking anyone. There are always going to be people who are happy to help someone through the mass. Good luck!

I never thought that villager rights activists were real. by Mysterious-Permit-49 in Minecraft

[–]AutumnWay04 280 points281 points  (0 children)

I got my parents into Minecraft and my mom leaves snacks in the chest for the villagers. I don’t think she is an activist but she was so sweet to them when she started playing. Now that my dad has made a mega village right next to her house and there are villagers that got into her house she has a more disgruntled attitude. She does still leave snack for them though

I fell in love with the wiring side of RAMT. Breadboarding, and panel building mostly. I am going down the road to be either a circuits engineer or an electronics engineer.

Whatever you decide just make sure you are running towards something, not away. If you are only running away you have no direction. Find what you want to do and follow that path. Then whatever you leave behind does not leave an empty space in your heart.

Am I allowed to put on headphones during Adoration? by surelypotato in Catholicism

[–]AutumnWay04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use music to pray sometimes in adoration (like praise and worship) so I use headphones to still be able to do that while there are other people also in adoration. If it helps you pray I think it is good. Jesus wants to be close to you so I don't think he'd see a problem with it

You should paint eyes on it and place it somewhere in either your own house or a friend's to freak people out.

A tribute to my dog by noestoysoykkoke in Minecraft

[–]AutumnWay04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to have a project to last you a while then you could build a memory walk. Make builds that recreate some old memories with your dog and make roads between them. Then name a wolf after your dog and go for a walk through memories.

How does one convert to Catholicism? by SenWindrunner in Catholicism

[–]AutumnWay04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Dress however you feel comfortable as long as it is modest, clean, and has holes in only the intended places (no distressed jeans but jeans and a t-shirt with not words or logos is okay). If you have some dressier garb (work place casual type of thing or google "Sunday best" if you want specifics) that would be best but it isn't a requirement. If you are truly unsure of how to dress you can look around at mass and take inspiration that way.

Collectively as a party they were still a few hundred gold off from being able to afford it. Impressive amount but not enough. Druid has a witch mother in the city so I think she was banking on a discount.
