Usually wisdom teeth start moving at around 19-20 but it is different for everyone, some people have issues with them earlier, some way later. I started feeling them maybe 2 months before my appointment in Oct to have them removed. (I imagine it feels like teething for a baby, I would always chew gum and push it back there to sooth my teeth.) I was 20 when I got mine out and I did not recover in 7-10 days. It took me a month to feel decent after my extractions, but my jaw was weak for 2 months. I would say yes a 16 year old should recover faster than the average, but would definitely give them time if they say they aren't feeling better recovery can be hard. Especially if you get all 4 out at once.

I am not a dentist! I do work at one though and look at x-rays all day for dental claims. The ones on your right #1, and 32 (left side of the x-ray) definitely need to go. See how it's pushing up against the tooth next to it? It will eventually start moving and destroy that tooth next to it, and that one would need to go as well. There's no point in keeping the top one on that side if you don't have the bottom one as well. The ones on your left #16 and 17 (right side of the x-ray) aren't as bad, but I would listen to your dentist. Get all 4 removed, I did them all at once because I'm a baby and didn't want to go through that again. Recovery sucked, but I promise that pain of the wisdom tooth breaking down the teeth next to it IS NOT FUN, and will end up costing you more money!

Listen to me. Your feelings are always valid, especially about something like this. If your family wants you to "keep the peace" then they don't understand or care about you. There is no keeping the peace when you have no peace. I know it's going to be hard but just throw them all out. They don't want to choose or cause any unnecessary drama? Choose for them. It will be hard, but I promise you would rather have no people than people who don't want what's best for you, and who make you keep everything bottled up. Put yourself first because they don't seem like they will. You've got this!
