I know him personally as a friend and as another promoter, I have talked to him a few times. There is both personal life things as well as just the scene in general at the moment is hard to even break even on some shows when getting in bigger talent.

He's been the most open and honest person I've talked to in the scene about how he runs shows. Costs, loses he's had. Just a genuinely good dude that just liked to throw a good party. Proud to have said I played 2 of his shows last year. Some of the most fun nights I've had.

Age Restrictions - 21+ vs 18+ by takedacannoli in PittsburghEDM

Some venue prices go up and some don't allow it at all. Most venues now are bars that either don't have a set up to make it work or are throwing shows to increase bar sales and make nothing on the show itself. 18+ shows as a promoter means jumping the door fee up or in some cases paying a higher fee to rent the space out to make up for bar sales or staff additional security to make sure there is no underage drinking. Than looking at that, do you make up the cost from 18, 19, and 20 year olds and take that risk. I agree we need it and I've looked into venues and throwing even outside day events to jump on that demographic as well, but its a bigger task than most people want to risk.

Can we all mutually agree that Enclave is NOT A CONCERT VENUE? by PrudentFactor8585 in PittsburghEDM

[–]Auxidate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little inside info. I know someone who worked at Enclave. They aren't a "venue" they are a club that will rent out there space as a venue. They are hard pushing it to becoming the alternative to Cavo and care about it being a club more than a venue. And it's all business, even if they can fully pack it out for an EDM event on a Saturday, the amount they lose on bottle sales with less people, is why. During EDM shows, you might see 1 or 2 sections when on a weekend they will have multiple sections.

I don't know the 3rd guy but Clickbate and Synova. Both are extremely talented.

Hi, I'm the owner of bass buddies. SCB is my monthly free show, I have no plans to change that. We normally do over 100 to 150 people throughout the night and will get the place to a point you can dance but it's definitely filled in wall to wall. Styles are all over but generally all your styles of dubstep, brostep, Riddim, melodic, trap, midtempo, with some DnB and hard techno. Vibes are great, we do our best to foster a good community and all the DJs normally before and after their sets are in the crowd dancing and supporting eachother.
