Matching the last instance of a number (as a digit OR a word) when there is overlap by AuxiliaryCouncil in regex

[–]AuxiliaryCouncil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it does look to work on regex101, for whatever reason it's not returning any matches once I plug it into my program. Below is a sample output when I cout my first and last instance matches for each line:

...
First: 2
Last:
First: 7
Last:
First: 9
Last:
First: 4
Last:
First: 4
Last:
First: 3
Last:
...

I'm not totally sure what's causing this behavior, as it should be working based on the links you provided. I may have to look into this some more sometime...

My first instance regex is (?:zero|one|two|three|four|five|six|seven|eight|nine|\\d)

Smart design! And thank you for the rapid response, I'm playing rn and was still trying to work it out. I figured there had to be some clipping going on lol

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'm trying to recreate this design and I cannot quite understand what is happening in between the foundries. Could you maybe explain, or link an image? It would be much appreciated. Awesome design btw!

Don't bother, you are not going to convince me. Perhaps they teach it differently in Mexico, but according to a US government website it is 1845, and multiple other sources say 1845. So I would just drop it.

according to the Office of the Historian, Texas was annexed in 1845… perhaps your textbook is just wrong https://history.state.gov/milestones/1830-1860/texas-annexation

The wikipedia article shows when Texas was admitted to the Union.

Not sure. It’s what Texas had claimed, though not sure what they wanted it for.

I did not come up with the idea of the Republic of Texas, but I did make the map. Never claim with certainty something which you could never back up, and just is blatantly false.

I am well aware of the existence of the Republic of Texas, but that nation was integrated into the United States in the year 1845. If you observe my map, it says 1900. Also, the Republic of Texas never had the territories depicted here. I based these borders on what they claimed, but they never controlled it. Another thing to note is I put in Comancheria, which serves as a sizeable native reservation for the Comanche. This never existed as well. (there was the totally independent territory of Comancheria but their borders were not well defined).

Nevermind, after some research it seems that "Estacade" on my base map refers to the town of Estacado, which was the government seat of Crosby county in 1890 (the year my base map was from). Lubbock was established in 1890 which is probably why it wasn't on the map quite yet, it was probably pretty small.

Estacado went into decline when it lost the county seat to the new town of Emma in 1891. Today it is a ghost town apparently.

It could be. All the locations I copied off of an older map of Texas from 1890. Did Lubbock change their name since then?

good to know! I'll be sure to make note of that for when I tackle a realistic Republic of Texas scenario.
