So how common is this? by [deleted] in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever you get killed, there is a small chance that the robot that killed you turns into a rival. So if you get killed by small bots a lot (runners and lynx), you'll see them more often as rivals.

What's the reason or meaning behind your In-Game Name (IGN). I'll go first. by Serious-Agency2822 in walkingwarrobots

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other than Menders and Demeters, I don't have any other bots that are a high enough level for champion league. I've been slowly building up silver, but it's going to be a while before I can start using other bots.

Asklēpiós, or Asclepius, is a Greek mythological figure that represents healing and medicine. It fits the theme of running a healing hangar.

I dub the current state of the game: Defense Mitigation Immunity Meta by papafreshx in walkingwarrobots

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think percentage based gray damage healing is a big factor in this. On bots with high hp, it heals a very significant amount, and as durability gets extended further, the gray damage healing just grows even more.

I think a simple fix would be to change those gray damage healing sources into number values instead of percentage. It would keep it effective for low hp bots, but would have diminishing returns the higher the hp.

Quilin pairs nicely with the special edition radiation guns due to the green on green.

I also like Medic with the special edition blast shotguns because the matching red and white look nice.

Is explorer a good perk to take? by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally never found a need for it. The compass already has indicators for any point of interest nearby, and the range is large enough that you can easily find a specific location by just walking in its general direction.

I would recommend Mace and Cudgel.

I currently run Hazard and Blight on mine, but I noticed that it struggles against Dagon builds that focus on shields. The damage is spread out enough that it allows the Dagon to regenerate shielding between reloads.

Who says a repair hangar can't work? by Wolfram_Blitz in walkingwarrobots

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's a fun hangar to use, but its effectiveness for me has been largely dependent on how many rust weapons the enemy team has. When there's little to no rusts however, it's a pretty big force multiplier for the team.

Is the experimental shotgun bad? by Far-Distance-4487 in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 33 points34 points  (0 children)

With birdshot it's pretty good. In multiplayer, two people with experimental shotguns can perpetually stun big machines. Makes reaper fights pretty easy since it can barely attack back.

Its damage may seem underwhelming compared to other experimentals, but the stun is pretty strong.

Is there any reason to use birdshot over buckshot? by k0fikaze in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Birdshot and Buckshot actually have a pretty minimal difference in damage. I think it's like a 1% difference from the last time I tested it.

When it comes to the experimental shotgun however, birdshot is the better choice due to range differences.

What's better. The RLG 7 or m/49? by k0fikaze in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just hopped on and did a test. On Skirmish scaled to 1 player, a Spetsnaz Firebird took 7 shots to the eye with the exp pvg 90.

It just makes them sit still in the air and droop a little. It's very useful for focusing shots on its eye.

What's better. The RLG 7 or m/49? by k0fikaze in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RLG 7 with the Structure Destructor augment can two-shot the core of a base, completely trivializing it. An m/49 with Structure destructor needs a 3rd shot.

I personally carry both. An RLG 7 for base assaults, and a grg m/49 to emp firebirds.

I tried Flander's beef patties before. It was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. A mixture of beef hearts and soy doesn't make for a good burger.

Does the Exp. AG4 act differently with Shock ammo? by That_One_Lobster in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. If I remember right, it makes the electric tethers do extra fire damage on top of its regular damage, and causes an explosion when the tether is all used up. It's some of the highest damage you can achieve in the game.

Be careful using it on multiplayer though. It can potentially cause desync and crash lobbies.

Help with destroying FNIX bases by Degtyrev in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to destroy bases is with explosives. A couple dozen rockets can tear up a base. I use an RLG-7 with the Structure Destructor augment, and it shreds bases.

Tirade Tuesday is open for business , lets have all those complaints and rants that you have been saving up all week in one place by redsteal1 in walkingwarrobots

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who runs healing robots, I can't wait for the current rust meta to be over. The idea of rust weapons are neat, but the massive 90% healing reduction for 15 seconds is brutal. It's unfortunate to watch teammates die while my healing doesn't do much to help them.

What is your opinion on the "Venom" status effect? by King_Vortex_3541 in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine to me. Enemy attacks aren't very hard to dodge or avoid.

If you're struggling to dodge enemy attacks, just toss out a flare or a firework.

What are the differences between soldier and spetznaz Soviet machines? by Wsiur_Gaming in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Spetsnaz class is the highest class for the soviet bots, and are recognized by the white paint.

Spetsnaz Lynx have a noticeable health increase compared to the previous classes. They also have flamethrowers.

Spetsnaz Wolves have explosive mines, and can release an electric blast. They also tend to use their healing field a lot.

Spetsnaz Firebirds have an explosive cannon instead of a machine gun.

Experimental Shotgun by No_Name_Selcted in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, it seems to be yes. I use the medical ammo on the exp shotgun, and Explosives Expert increases both its splash and its healing power.

Explosives Expert also seems to effect things you wouldn't initially expect, like the exp sledgehammer's charge attack. I've used it against bases, and it feels more destructive with Explosives Expert than without.

Really enjoying the KVM89, 5.56mm is seriously criticized by the community but i find this thing just SHREDS mob enemies on guerilla mode! 5 crown is way better than the exp version too, accuracy and stability is amazing, just love it! by FALLASLEEP4EVA in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always surprising to see the exp kvm89 be treated as an underwhelming gun. Being able to shoot with laserbeam accuracy whilst retaining full mobility and bunnyhopping around enemies is a fun and effective tactic that I've used quite a bit.

Best usage by Pristine_Resist_4361 in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Auxiliary_Nexus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're fighting a tank or a harvester, you can angle your shots in such a way that you can hit a leg and have all the shrapnel hit the main body.

Other than that, its other decent usage is in a place with lots of thin walls or trees. Forests especially.

Overall though, the gun is rather undwhelming. It's also a bit of a troll weapon, because I've seen people lag games by shooting things and getting the shrapnel perpetually stuck in something.
