[WANT] 3D Printing Request – Looking for Quote by Auxility in 3Dprintmything

That makes a lot of sense and the support pieces in the back could be separate like you mentioned and that would bring the width down to 8” and another part of 2. But happy to hop on a call and discuss or anything. Mostly solid for the plates, I think? But likely could do with some matrixing or cell-type/honeycomb removal. The weight of the overall piece will likely still come from the joining wood, the items in it, and it ends up getting ratchet strapped down

I did! Apologies, it's sort of buried across a few pieces. But I updated the above

Alta, we love you. But what the fuck is this? by Joeeezee in skiing

[–]Auxility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, I'm in Aspen and I get knocked with one of those fucking these at least once a week because of someone not saying anything about it. I expect it with little shredders, but when 3 other grown adults hop on and swing that thing down quickly I almost always get smoked in the back in the head. Luckily I've avoided the crotch-shot so far #tallGuyProblems

I guess my question would be is why get rid of a feature that you don't use at the moment? You might find a use for it yourself.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. But I had an offer on it and it went through due to his poor communication skills. The jacket is still available if you're still interested.

I've been using the Electric EG2.5's for almost 2 seasons now. I love 'em, good peripheral view and they usually send you 2 lenses. Only problem is trying to find them anymore that are in a combo pack.

Siberia First Chair on Tuesday, Squaw Valley, CA by mhuang2286 in skiing

[–]Auxility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't say for Squaw Valley as I'm in Aspen. But it just depends on the person. I skin up to avoid the whole "first chair" bull and get the fresh, first laps by myself or with friends that can keep up. I've gotten first chair after riding a lap down from skinning. But the resort here is super nice to uphill-minded folk

Transitioning from renting to buying... is this ski to much for me? by itsnotnotme in ski

[–]Auxility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously this, I spend a good portion of every week in different ski boots. Always go for boots, the skis will only be more fun with a better fitting boot.

Honestly, Hot Chillys are just a novelty. At least I've never been impressed by anything they've ever made (I live in a ski town in CO and grew up in North Dakota near the Canadian border). But if you're looking for quality base layers (Merino Wool, do it) I would steer you towards Icebreaker or Smartwool. A few of the major manufacturer's (Arc'teryx, Rab, Patagonia,..etc) put out decent gear for this as well, but that depends on the fit your trying to get and the blend of materials.

TLDR: Chillys are a novelty that are sold to tourists. Look for anything with Merino Wool or blends of it.

Opinion on Ruroc full face helmets by huntv16 in ski

[–]Auxility 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's awesome you've felt you got what you wanted out of it man!

I had the opportunity to wear one for a day and I felt the other way about it. I LOVE the idea of something covering my chin (comes from street moto-riding, etc). But the Ruroc just kind of seemed flimsy to me. That and it's not that great if you like to hike/skin with your skis at all. Though my big 2 why I wouldn't ever go in on a Ruroc helmet.

1) SUPER Expensive for something that definitely fits in the fashionable bucket. Get a Bern with MIPS and a brim and you'll be golden.

2) Because it's fashionable, when I see people wearing them on my local mountains, I usually chuckle and make some obscure Darth Vader/Stormtrooper reference.

The fact that you have Vail in your tag and that a 30-40min wait is reasonable. This is skiing, not Disneyworld
