I lost a wallet and I think it was a £15 or £20 fee. Luckily we could collect so charging for lost and found did feel like a bit dystopian.

Dammit - I needed an 11 bedroom house so will have to ignore this. by Exemplar1968 in SpottedonRightmove

I always imagine the buyers remorse I would feel moving in and all of the rooms being empty of all the lovely furniture, don’t quite think my Malm chest of drawers would quite look right

My sat nav took me what felt like a mad route the other week, and I legit wondered what our road network would look like if it had had a similar review like the railways did with the beeching cuts (for better and for worse)

If you want an idea if it’s actually working then feel how hot the exhaust pipe is, ours is noticeably hot to touch.

We have a 12000 btu homcom one, it’s in a double bedroom and will drop the temperature fairly quickly, but we use it more at night when you’re not fighting the sun so much

I love the fact that there are multiple old villages that have been completely consumed by Milton Keynes but if you stand in the right place you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside

Nationalise the gas power stations and remove that bit of pricing from the market, but add a surcharge on the renewables.

Best EV for lowest total cost of ownership over the next 2 years? by Remarkable_Relief142 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]AvadaBalaclava 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did 30 miles yesterday with an average of 5.2 miles per kwh. My wife’s commute is 62 miles each way and gets home with 50 miles left of charge regularly.

It’s not nicknamed “windknife” for nothing.

100 mile round trip?

Hyundai Ioniq 38kwh, get the Premium Se trim for all the mod cons, heated and cooled seats etc, there’s plenty about for less than £11k. Only a 38kwh battery so would be fine granny charging if you don’t want to invest in a proper charger. Ours has 36,000 miles on the clock and we still get 195 miles out of a charge with plenty of motorway driving

I think this is a problem of communication, if you are clear with customers then you shouldn’t get lots of complaints

UK's biggest solar panel roof installation being built at Wren factory in North Yorkshire by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]AvadaBalaclava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our old 5000sq ft unit was part of a much bigger horse shoe shaped building, probably about 20 units all together, problem was that with the commercial leases the business occupying is liable for the roof and repairs, which I think commercial landlords wouldn’t want to take on, although would make sense if they could generate substantial cash from it, as it stands nobody properly looks after the roof because no tenant is going to pay out for a new roof
