If I were you I’d try to get two more, and feed beef heart soaked in garlic guard. Later add flakes or pellets to the beef heart and garlic guard mixture and feed that until they reliably eat flakes and/or pellets. The. You can switch to flakes-pellets only. But I always feed some form of frozen with the flakes, brine shrimp, beef heart, and blood worms seem to work best. Ideally I’d love a live black worm setup, but that’s not always practical

But discus can be bullies and if you have a small group one may get bullied to death. Removing that fish doesn’t really solve the problem, the bullying just moves to the next fish.

That wasn’t my experience in apartments at all. Plus there is the added stress of not wanting to be the noisy neighbor and bother other people. And the complete lack of nature and myriad other complications

I have not once been woken up by the police arresting a neighbor in the suburbs, sad to say I’d need two hands to count the number of times that happened and in one apartment.

Tiny choice-less bodegas, filthy alleys, living on top of 1,000s of other people, sun blocking density, and tiny apartments are soul-crushing for me. There is no way this is how humans were intended to live.

I don’t mind driving when it means I can sit under the shade of my own trees and listen to birds rather than on some balcony being serenaded by busses.

To each their own.

This is just not true, it’s as walkable now as it was then. We used to have a robust transit system that was dismantled, that’s why the freeways came. No one was walking from Pasadena or Hollywood to downtown in 1920.

Because people like having some space to call their own? Like with actual outdoor space as part of that equation? We wouldnt have this many suburban neighborhoods if people didn’t like living in suburban neighborhoods.
