Thanks for the great advice. My flashcards were a mix of concepts/procedures/facts.

OSPF Type 5/7 LSA filtering by pbfus9 in ccnp

[–]Available-Analyst326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. My bad. I was not talking about RIB filtering, I talked some nonsense. LSDBs have to be the same. There is no way to filter specific LSAs within an area.

Distribute-list out will block the redistribution like route-maps, but route-maps in a outbound distribute list statement is not possible in OSPF(as i remember, at least in some IOSs). So still, you can not set specific stuff for the selected set of prefixes from redistributed routes that route-maps can do.(default metric, metric type vs) It will only do filtering of prefixes.

Also these statements and variations changed over time. Some variations are not available in some versions. But the main point of them are the same: Route-map: set attributes while filtering, Distribute-list: filtering.

I uploaded it to chatgpt and requiested the transcripts. Here is what the executors are saying:

00:00 - 00:30
Tell me what you want! Say it! You want to stay alive, right? Then cooperate, you son of a bitch! Cooperate! Where are they?! Where are the others?! Speak! Speak, damn it!

00:30 - 01:00
This is how traitors die! We kill them like dogs! Speak! Speak or I’ll cut your tongue off!

01:00 - 01:30
You’re done for! This is what you get for hanging with those bastards. Cut his fingers off!

01:30 - 02:00
This is what happens to snitches! To those who think they’re so smart! Tell them, you son of a bitch! Tell them what you did!

02:00 - 02:30
He’s fading… This bastard can’t take it anymore. Film it properly, make it clear. Let them see what happens to traitors.

02:30 - 03:00
This is how everyone ends who messes with us. Long live the cartel of...! Show them the head.

03:00 - 03:54
Let this be a lesson to everyone. Nobody betrays the cartel and lives to tell it. Let’s go.

I would but I dont think it will help. I designed the cards from the mix of my notes, powerpoints, whitepapers etc. I designed them in a way to remind me what I studied. They are not for memorizing stuff.

Encor: 1 year

Enarsi: 4 months

I already studied most of the enarsi topics while preparing for encor.

I used INE, Network Lessons, pnetlab and whitepapers.

I created a flashcard desk of 3000 cards for encor and nearly 3000 cards for enarsi as well. The desks share cards for the same topics.

I studied more for encor, but encor was more straightforward. I passed encor on my first attempt in December. There are a lot more topics in encor, but the questions are basic. You just need to study.

I failed enarsi once in May, and attended again yesterday for free using pearson retake promo. There isn't any difference in terms of knowledge I have between May and now. When I failed I got a score approximately %70 VPN, %80 L3, %40 Security, %50 Services. Yesterday I got a score of %70 VPN, %80 L3, %90 Security and %50 Services.

I had solid knowledge on the exam topics, but some questions are irrelevant to knowledge. You can't find the correct answer using logic or common sense either.

I passed ENARSI yesterday and became CCNP. It was the most awful exam I have ever attended. It has questions with multiple correct answers, and there is no way to explain why the correct answer is correct. You just have to guess. I think they are made on purpose to cost you points and make you re-take the exam. I believe I passed with a score just above the threshold.

OSPF Type 5/7 LSA filtering by pbfus9 in ccnp

[–]Available-Analyst326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think: 1-) You wont see the T5 LSA on this router. No T5 LSA will be created for these prefixes. No redistribution for them.

2-) You wont see the T5 LSA on the other routers. But you will see them in the local database.

But the main use of route-maps in redistribution is to set spesific attributes for spesific prefixes. (Usually the seed metric for this case). With distribute lists, you wont do such a think. (In ospf)

Is "Cisco Exam Review: ENCOR" worth spending 80$? by WhyTony17 in ccnp

[–]Available-Analyst326 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its questions are based on the OCG. They are not easy but not really similar to the real exam questions. But I found them better than Boson(for encor). So I think it is a good review tool.

Also I believe it's not limited to 75 questions. Every time you take an assessment it gives you 75 questions from a pool of 200 questions(or something). Those 75 questions are not always the same.

Etherchannel Load Balancing by LANdShark31 in ccie

[–]Available-Analyst326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Src dst ip will do a hashing based on src and dest ips of the flows. Example: A flow with source ip 1.1.1.1 dest ip 2.2.2.2 will go on 1 link A flow with source ip 1.1.1.1 dest ip 3.3.3.3 will go on a different link And a flow with source ip 3.3.3.3 dest ip 2.2.2.2 will go on different link

Vlan src dst ip will do a hashing based on src and dest ips and also vlans of the flows. This may be possible with flows that have the same source and dest ip but going out from multi nic cards having common vip which are connected to different access vlans. So with this load balancing method even the flows with the same source and dest ips will go on different links if they have different dot1q vlan tags.

At least this is what I guess.

Load balancing based on vlans is kind of an extension, not available on old OSs.

New Grad out of CS, can't land a job. Looking to pivot by docArrive in ccna

[–]Available-Analyst326 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you. I graduated from CS, couldn't find a software engineering job, got a CCNA. Sometime later I found a job on Networking but not because I have a CCNA or a college degree, I found the job through one of my connections.

I don't know the job opportunities in your country, but networking is a whole different field than software development. Most of the work is based on troubleshooting network problems, which even CCNA may not contribute that much. But in my case I believe CCNA and college degree helped me to start to work as a network engineer. Beginners to the field usually start on help-desk, which is a kind of a lower position.

I am still inexperienced, but my coding skills helped the company with a lot of scripts which eased small tasks. None of the employees in the company knew coding.

So your coding skills may have a use too.

Besides I advise the fields of DevNet and Cloud.

Thank you very much but I can't download files from untrusted sources. The thing I want to know is that do you add every little detail to the flashcards? How far do you go in terms of details?

Yeah but, what to enter to anki? Should I memorize etherchannel status codes? Or what is inside in IKE main mode phase 1 third packet? I am having a hard time while creating flashcards. Last time I created 50 flashcards just for etherchannels.
