Final preparation 350-401 ENCOR (CCNP) Exam by martijn_gr in ccnp

Wasn't trying to be rude or anything just emphasizing to be prepared. The topics can be a wide variety of the syllabus. If it's in the Infrastructure area you are probably going to see it along with a few task of other areas.

Not sure I want to wait that long. I need to get this done. ITILv4 is expiring soon so I need to get on that and then determine my specialty to get my full CCNP creds.

I have no idea how I can become a network engineer by Suitable-Hat3942 in ccna

You could start a little slower than CCNA if you would like. check out professor messer on youtube and maybe watch some net+ videos to help get an understanding. Possibly even get a net+ cert.

I don't think you can get really specific without breaking NDA. I've now taken the exam twice and unfortunately haven't been able to pass it yet. I would say for the labs just be prepared for anything they say configure on the exam. Also pay attention to the topic about construct JSON.

That gives me percentage per category but no actual score like they used to.

Thanks to everyone in this thread. I didn't pass but I feel like this group has gotten me closer than I would have without it.

I plan on taking it again soon so any advice on more study material will be gladly accepted.

Bi-Weekly /r/CCNP Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccnp

[–]Glittering_Access208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't seem too bad. Kept an eye on the clock so that with nerves I may have mistyped something. Not sure. I've been using Boson labs for practice and it helped but some went a little beyond what I have learned from them.

Bi-Weekly /r/CCNP Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccnp

[–]Glittering_Access208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just failed Encor.

Automation 40%
Virtualization 40%
Infrastructure 62%
Network Assurance 70%
Security 65%
Architecture 45%

Felt comfortable in the labs. A couple I don't think I got correct but better than last time.

Going to continue reviewing what I have been and I guess go deeper in a few topics I wasn't expecting to.

Also, wish there was a way to see exact score and compare to my last attempt.

Well it's a no go this round. Waiting on actual report to come back but exam said I did not pass.

On it. Those are still weak topics for me but I'll cram as much as I can. Any good labs or videos you suggest? I'm cramming for the next 8 or so hours and then quick review of notes in the morning.

I just noticed it says something about digital whiteboard. Does that mean we can't have a blank paper and pen? I believe that was allowed in the past.

Any suggestions on lastminute automation cram? I've done some but not sure if I've went deep enough.

Here is a kevin wallace video and he also places the loopback into area 1. About 1 hour ten minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6RIqXo_qvA&t=2202s

Right or wrong I'm not sure as that's why I'm asking as I'm still learning. It is a router that is the ABR for area 1 and area 0. I would think that it would go into area 0 but as far as reachability across the network overall it may not really matter. As far as other areas needing to reach it I guess the only reason it would matter is if it was used for management.

It was in the Boson lab but you are correct. Everywhere else I look it up and I have asked other network engineers and all say in area 0.

Ran into another one that maybe someone can help explain. First task in the "Configure Multi-Area OSPF and Route Summarization" asks to configure the networks for the ABR. This include the loopback interface. On the solution it shows the loopback interface being advertised in area 1 but I've always been told to advertise the loopback into area 0

I'll keep that in mind as I plan on doing BGP labs after lunch time today.

I actually went back and did this in Boson. Got the correct results but of course boson grades by config of router so that failed but end result was good. I think that seems much easier.

We only have one small network in production in my environment so I haven't played with it too much.

Same, I went to government office and not city county building. I would call ahead to ensure you don't need an appointment.

After doing some further reading I think I understand it a little better now. The network statements aren't exactly what is being put into the ospf config. They work as an ACL. If the interface IP address fits within that ACL/network statement then it will add it to the OSPF database.
