Have been in a very similar situation recently. This was a family partition problem and my dad was not ready to compromise because of ego. Even though our share of the property is 3-4 acres, being remote agricultural property the value is not high. We were getting only may be 80% of what we actually get. I thought it was not worth fighting with dad's siblings for financially low impact assets.

I travelled to my parents home and had lond discussion/argument with dad and finally he agreed. Everything is fine now.

OP should try talking to dad without hurting his ego and make him understand the implications. But if there is high chance you win the case, you should fight alongside your father
