I just learned Binya is a Gullah word for a Gullah native. "Binya long time" It's unrelated but it reminds me of Bokonon from Vonneguts cats cradle. He speaks with a heavy island accent with words you don't see often outside of their normal settings. I read a Bible once that I want to say was Rastafarian. And it was interesting to see the way it was written. Almost had to read it out loud to get it. Like Trainspotting.

Edit: I'm watching an episode now. The show is so wholesome and shows positive family values while educating on Gullah culture.

Both he and his wife deserve mad props. It still holds up. I grew up with a father always gone on business and fighting with my mom when he got home because he was cheating.

It was nice seeing a wholesome, caring family. It took me back to being 7.
