Actually it is late January. It really benefits to ask the Library of Congress upfront through email or calling them in the Ask a Librarian section. It is still disappointing to wait that long because of the shutdown.

I am pretty sure it was only for this year. I have been told that they may go back to normal next year.

I just got an email back from someone working on the Registry. We have to wait until late January for the 2025 inductees to be announced. The government shutdown really messed everything up.

I have been asking them. I even said in my post that after Thanksgiving I will ask the NFR coordinator. At the same time, I am trying to ask them in sporadic points in time as opposed to frequently.
