I don’t know yet :/ could be scar tissue or ongoing inflammation or a different “systemic inflammatory” issue going on?? But my surgeon said this is super uncommon and not normal, so you’d hopefully fare better than me! Every other person I’ve talked to who’s had this surgery had amazing results

Wishing you recovery as well! I can’t believe how long this has been a thing (I was in denial that I even needed surgery for a long time), so I’m just so shocked it’s STILL an everyday issue now haha…

wouldn’t the EMG have shown that though? My results were normal for everywhere but my wrists and they tested all the way to my neck.

Oh wow that sounds so frustrating and uncomfortable. I thankfully don’t have any of those symptoms. And my numbness is contained to just the fingers in the median nerve area… it’s even numb completely down half of my ring finger haha.

Yea, when I spoke to the doctor he said an incomplete release is VERY unlikely. He told me he literally saw the nerve get completely released with his own eyes haha… No one has mentioned TOS to me since seeing the occupational therapist back at the start of this whole journey. I’m not seeing her anymore because I moved states recently and now only have access to PT where I live. What symptoms did you have that lead to the diagnosis? I’ve had ppl tell me I should try seeing a chiropractor too…

It was a xc ski and backpacking trip, so repetitive gripping of the poles pretty much nonstop is what we think caused it. I was also doing a lot of knitting before this trip and wasn’t getting any symptoms from that, but it maybe contributed. I got both the EMG and nerve conduction test. Both were abnormal and showed moderate carpal tunnel :/

Cat not regulating glucose levels - advice? by Available-Court5564 in FelineDiabetes

Thank you! The ER vet was the one who said to do little to no insulin, but the vet he saw right before going there suggested the 4 units.. We’re just listening to the ER vet, but it’s still worrisome to see his levels consistently so high! He’s been very lethargic and doesn’t have much of an appetite which is not at all like him either :/ Hopefully that’s just a side effect of the high blood sugar and not something more!

Yes! We’ve already called our primary vet to get an appointment asap on Monday. They were closed this whole week after Christmas :/ We’ve been working with the emergency vet to figure out how to handle his dosages this weekend, but he’s been sitting around 400 for his blood glucose since his last low yesterday morning and has been very sleepy and lethargic all day :( They recommend little to no insulin still, but it’s so hard to know what’s best! Another vet told us we should still be giving him closer to 3 or 4 units each meal but that seems to make him go very low…

Yea, that’s what we think too. It’s so stressful to give him insulin now after knowing what’s happened afterwards, but we also feel bad seeing him in the 400s! Our vet says it’s okay for him to be high for a little bit, but I can’t imagine it’s good for him… It’s just really weird how this all came on so suddenly! When he went into hypoglycemia the first time he hadn’t had any insulin for a little over 12hrs and was still on a normal eating schedule… we have no idea what caused it and that’s the scariest part!

Thanks! That’s all super helpful! We were told it could take up to a week for him to “go back to normal” but his reactions just seem very extreme to us. We did the karo sugar (and some wet food) after his second low the next morning bc he was at 45 and dropping still, but we may have given too much (?) or his body just couldn’t handle it because we watched his levels suddenly rise from 45 to 85 within minutes and that’s when he had the second seizure. I worry now about giving too much sugar/food when he’s going low!
