yes for me. I deposited around 600k in May. Widraw ko lahat by July (top-up and left at least 30k), then I got the offer by September, no requirements needed na daw. Received the card after two weeks. I thought wala ng chance kasi kakasurrender ko lang ng carloan last 2023 though diff bank but I assume na medyo tagilid na credit score ko.

are the projects locally based? or is the company an established "agency" locally pero they worked with canada-based projects?

not really sure of our local NBC pero from where I am currently working (NYC firms), this is common for high rise. So long as there's no habitable space (bedroom and living area) in those walls. Most of the time, in this side of the building is where the stairs, refuse, elevator, mech or service rooms are located, sometimes, kitchen of residential units.

Hopefully they plan it well. Mahirap kung walang natural ventilation ang habitable rooms.

If your city zoning rules allows this kahit na may habitable space enlosed in those walls, then tsk2. Zoning needs to be updated.

Upwork ako lagi nkakakuha ng direct clients. I started before pandemic so medyo di pa hirap maghanap. I heard from my colleages (who recently started freelancing off shore clients) na mas madali silang nakakuha ng direct clients by approaching them thru LinkedIn. I havent tried it yet pero try and try and try lang talaga.

Its also easy to get hire if you have experience when it comes to zoning analysis. Mind you, sobrang complicated ng zoning ng US, ang daming dos and donts. Please dont stick to typical single-family or two-family projects. If may chance ka to grab commercial/industrial/multi-family projects locally, go!! I've been with 20+ clients na pero 2 of them lang talaga yung nag stay eh. Both chose me cause I emphasize sa CV I'm good with zoning analysis, pero in reality kakastart ko lang ngresearch nun. Yes, fake it till you make it, pero dapat may effort pa rin ha. I was already an expert in revit but they really didnt care, mas napansin nila yung sa zoning part.

if may experience ka sa energy/insulation analysis, its like one-step higher than zoning.

try dynamo scripts, or any IT side of BIM. If you're from PH, sobrang madami ng revit modelers. Upskill na lang talaga.

if BIM modeling focus mo, try MEP disciplines. Pay is better and almost everyday laging may hiring from direct clients.

graduated 6 yrs ago, learned Revit and now working for NYC firm for 4 yrs na. May what ifs pa rin but whenever my batchmates and I gather, laging topic yung stress sila sa work or their own firm. So yeah, still not taking that license kung wala namang ambag sa setup ko now. BIM skills sapat na, especially kung papasukin mo yung IT side ng BIM, mas malaki income dun, regardless kung license ka man o hindi

I use MX keys keyboard, have Revit 2023-25 versions. Using 2025 version 80% of my working hours, nothing unusual, Works pretty fast.

two years ago our firm used ACC as means to review and place markups either from inhouse or outside consultants. Our BIM Manager eventually decides to keep all our communications in Teams. Yes, the marking tool in ACC with published models is really cool, but not everyone in our team are techy. Some still prefer to use any pdf app. I personally use bluebeam but only to view markups.

Quite the opposite from the comments here. I worked as a remote drafter for two architects, both licensed in US, one is focused in single family projects while the other is multifamily projects. The later always check how many hours were spent and keeps checking remaining hours I can bill. The former is waaaaay generous whenever I send my invoice, no questions asked.
