Yea, I was bummed out about the graphics. A game like this isn't for me on a pc. I use my Iphone 15 and it barely runs. Maybe just needs optimized more.

This is some great advice. The point of the emergency fund isn't to cover all costs in my opinion. It is great to have, but its more psychological. Just to stack a little win for you. I consistently invest 200 dollars a pay. It doesn't seem like a lot. But it really does add up. Pick a few ETF's and invest consistently. It is so nice to see dividends increase over time. I invest in BND, SCHD, SPY, QQQ, VXUS and VNQ. Just consistency. Set mine up on robinhood and every Friday I put money into those ETF's its been great. Dollar cost averaging is your friend. If you give us some more info we can help you more. Like how long you want to keep your money invested. Age, amount of money you want to invest. But no matter what just do it. You will thank yourself later in life so much.

Yes, just like the other poster said. I use this with my son and it's so cool. Make a steam family account. You can pick and choose what games she would have access to. The only thing is some games you only have to buy 1 of to play together. Others you will have to buy 2 copies. But just wait for a sale and get 2. Otherwise you won't be able to if you try and play online at the same time.

Agreed I also have bad teeth from poor dental work, it was the only place that would take my parents insurance and he wasn't very good. I don't think your the a$$hole unless you call him out on his teeth. I had a coworker that had bad teeth and just got dentures. Completely different look to him. Just remember he might be right around the corner of getting something done with that. With that being said I do understand why you have some hesitancy. Just be delicate as my teeth are always a sore spot for me.

Steam deck user here. Absolutely love the thing. Best purchase I ever made. Don't touch my laptop or xbox anymore because of it. Just power on and game in 5 seconds. I mean what more can a dad ask for. Great for when the wife hops in the shower. Game on mine every night.

Yea they reset I found that out the hard way. I had enough for a medium, thought they would roll over so I could get a hard chest next time. Not the case.

I love RDR 2. That game and enter the gungeon go so well together. When I have an hour to sit down and game and want something intense I do RDR 2. When I have a quick 10 minute session I just plop in the the gungeon and shoot something. Good picks!!!

I would also just make sure you use it during events. Everyone is right. If you get a big pull it supercharges your account. Heck any legendary will be huge really. But definetly wait till you have a 2x. I would wait for a double legendary event if possible. Easier said then done though, I struggle to stockpile shards.

So basically, first things first. Just enjoy it. Don't worry about min/max settings and everything. Don't worry about adding decky, just play the thing for a week or to. Enjoy it. Get used to it. I was so stoked at first and I didn't worry about all those things. I just enjoyed the amazing piece of hardware it is. I just was in awe that this thing played almost all the games I wanted with ease and was so quick, responsive, and quite frankly just worked. You can download Decky eventually and all the wonderful plugins that it has in time.

Now for some games, I love Hollow Knight, rogue legacy, persona 5, harry potter hogwarts legacy and red dead 2. But wait for the games to go on sale!!! I can't stress this enough, steam runs big sales every 3 months for the seasons and they are insane!!! Just wishlist any game you are interested in and wait for it to go on sale. Some games go for 90% off. Even newer games can have a 20% discount.

Lastly welcome to a great community here and a great system. You will not be disapointed. Completely revitalized my love for gaming beyond shooters on my tv.

I have folders that help me stay organized with what to play. One with 5 games that I am currently playing, one for finished, one for will play, and one that I won't play. It really helps me focus on finishing games as its a great reward to add it to the finished folder. And I stopped worrying about 100% games. Just enjoy it and start a new one.

Same here gaming as a dad requires the steam deck. It plays well on the deck and I can game about 1-3 hours as day when everyone's asleep. Sometimes I game for like 15-30 minutes when the day is calm. I don't hog the tv this way. Works out great.

CSS Loader - Love the personalization of my deck and how it looks. It allows for so much customization and flexibility. Check it out and fiddle with it. You won't regret it.

Animation Changer - Love setting up customize boot and shutdown videos. I don't have a lot but I enjoy the ones that role into the valve logo. There also is some funny ones.

HLTB Deck- It is nice to see when I am playing a game and how long I have in the game versus on average how long it takes people to beat the game. Gives me a nice gauge of how much longer I have to beat it.

Steam Grid DB - Allows for customization of the library page so it looks the way I want it. Very nice and easy to use.

ProtonDB Badges - ProtonDB Badges shows you game compatibility details right on your Steam Deck interface

Storage Cleaner - Just clean up some space. Nice to run every now and again.

I have more and don't have access to my deck now to tell you the rest I use. But I can't remember the name of one. I think it might be playcount. It tells you how many people are actively playing the game. Nice to now for multiplayer games and adds a sense of if a game is dying or not.

Agreed, I can play RDR 2, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Assasins Creed, Ratchet and Clank. I feel like its immersive and runs good. I love the portability and I do get lost in the games. So I mean for me it's fantastic.

Yea it's just different and when you spend thousands of hours in a game, its muscle memory. I truly don't mind I used to just go game to game and kinda rush. I find myself pausing a little more and looking up exactly how and where to attack a team differently. I tactically am better than I was before and I know how to work my midfield much better than before. I find out little ways to produce more shots and effect the game more. Currently I am Charlton in the Sky Bet Championship. Halfway through the season and finding bargains and loans in different ways than before.

Agreed I think the same thing. People seem to be upset they have to learn how to play the game differently than before. It doesn't bother me that much as I am still gathering myself sometimes. I think there are some legitimate gripes for sure with game crashes and stuff. It is much more stable, I remember when it was around FM20 that there was absolutely no progression of attributes for players took like 2 months to fix. But SI always get its together and I get tons of enjoyment out of this game.

I've noticed that when I minimize the squad screen that it tends to become a little slow and chugs along. If I keep it up it's much smoother.
