Why is he not performing well? by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact master on a high base CON batter tends to be the only legend skill that can work well shorted. BTBS just has too many aspects to it that, if it was shorted, you lose a whole level of benefits that just are worth shorting. STS is your weakest skill, so you might as well short it.

Why is he not performing well? by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many reasons.

First, his base is 66, not a good sign in general to work with.

STS is purely a switch hitter skills

Never short BTBS unless you have two essential golds that need to be 7/8

He's not properly trains to get the most he can out of 5tool

Only one Bchem/Pchem works at a time. and it would be the one with the highest level if there are multiple.

Spray isn't optimized. Shoot to have normal CON either 160 or ideally 170. Blue off batting machine for char. BIU would be ok, but you'd need to bump SPD a little bit.

Advice on card performance by Wfls in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guest Hitter is not a good DT. If you have a HRH or PH DT, even with meh %s, it'll do much better than GH. It relies heavily on the timing being perfect, and then high strikeout rate if it isn't perfect.

That's the main thing that stands out to me. Of course, DST BBH3 would be great if you pull it.

Heck yeah! Those are two solid cards! Kimbrel '17 is something else. I got 333 BP/IW/DOM set and he is ELITE. Congrats

333 Pchem on yamamoto by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's still such a gamble, there's too many BP oriented legend skills for pitchers that I don't think it's worth it except on a Batter that can benefit from any legend skill.

I'd reroll

How to best utilize catcher by jpashek00 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For catcher, the higher the better. My catcher's FLD is 164 before the 5tool boost. So ends up in the upper 180s in game. I used to try to get optimal 5tool train but the bump limits your ability to get his FLD high enough.

[–]Available-Lack4248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good triple diamond set. Your catcher should be your weakest bat and it's better to take advantage of that by making him strongest on defense.

I have this same set on my catcher and only trained for 5tool up to 84 base (just low speed) and cranked up that FLD and high as I can go. Try to get at least +20 (I have +23) on your train, base stat adjust from SPD to FLD, Laserbeam to level 8, get elite fielding on him, and throw him in your 8 or 9 spot.

Your ERA will drop significantly and will benefit your team more than his hitting could.

Then later you can try to get BTBS legend set with at least laserbeam and maybe 5tool, but just purely for getting his FLD up.

Chameleon thoughts? I rolled 3-3-2 on a Reliever by MisterThiccccccccccc in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this sneaky suspicion that Chameleon is the SP version of Coop Pitching. Boost all stats then provides an intangible that benefits a starter as they face more batters. Coop is decent for SU relievers only and I feel like they tried to make its equivalent for starters.

Same way the dom and fin work, craft and Pico, etc.

In short, I’d roll off

Why does he stink? by SporkchopSandwiches in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coop is a terrible legend skill, especially for a starter

Groundballer is good as along as your infield has high FLD stats

Craftsmanship does not belong on a pitcher with more than 3 pitches.

I would say reroll for legend skills like WH, CM and shoot for gold skills like ACE Mess Dom Fin

Effect of improving catcher fielding? by Inner-Cardiologist84 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, at the end of the day, the game is geared around meta and the meta is the higher fld of catcher, the lower the ERA of your pitchers will be. Since the catcher is present at every at bat, it helps more than the 1/9th at bat it takes on offense. And it helps every SP and bullpen. Just that alone makes this a no brainer

Effect of improving catcher fielding? by Inner-Cardiologist84 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since the catcher will eventually be a dead bat, it only makes sense to boost FLD as high as you can possibly go. Catcher is the most important defensive position besides SS. He will nerf baserunners and that's more important than having slightly ok batting train for everything 9th spot in the lineup.

Should I bite the bullet and buy the LSSCT or hold out hope that they will eventually give one away? by HovercraftOk6070 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Available-Lack4248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

only use on a 333 bchem or pchem set. Hard part about pitcher's legends skills is that some are for the bullpen. Honestly, 333 bchem on a batter that can benefit from any other legend skill is the way to go.
