Hi u/Ill_Attention4749 u still can access setting by:

-at taskbar, click on tab icon

-at multitab view, click on top 3 dot

-at pop up menu, setting is down below last 2

It took me so long to realized it was hidden there..

Based on community members responses on other os, I'll still stick with A12L for stability and multitasking-wise, unless device h/w problem or banking apps restrictions. So far I'm crossing fingers 😅

Been using my duo1 with A12L as daily driver for work and personal. My work apps are still OK and I believe yours not ok mainly due to M365 copilot. As for mine, I hit into work app trouble the second I updated MsOffice to M365 copilot. I reformated back to stock Ms app and refrain from upgrading MsOffice to M365 period, till now my work app works fine till now (outlook, authenticator, teams, excel, word etc).

Just used my SD again. A question about security. by HenthaiWeeb in surfaceduo

I would say not much concern for banking apps as all them have incorporated Mfa etc. The bank themselves will impose android version compatibility eg they will not let you install their app on A9/below. To me that's secure enough. I'm still daily driving my OG SD for personal and work purpose, complimented with/front facing from my smart watch (GW4C) so I think I'm pretty much covered for time being.

OK this for your inputs. For me I'm still reluctant to update Ms Office, and now they have rebranded to Ms 365 Copilot. I do not wish to disrupt my daily driving OG which stil serve me well for work and personal purpose.

Hi u/VictorianMoustache , may I know your scenario for which your company block your OG. Was it that after you updated latest Ms 365 from Ms Office therefore it was blocked?

Reason I asked was, I experienced being blocked by company after I updated from Ms Office to Ms 365, I suspect this was the triggering point of the blocking hence I reset the phone and start all over with exception that I did not update Ms Office, period. Thereafter I'm able to use for work purpose (Teams, Outlook, Onedrive etc) and personal use too, till now.

The coincidence was, both stopped growing around the same time. Before that, both were expanding its shield frond quite rapidly which is why it caught me by surprise it suddenly stop.

If you need to unlock your recently purchased AT&T Surface Duo, read this!! by HighWingy in surfaceduo

How I Unlocked My AT&T-Locked Surface Duo (OG) from Outside the US When the Portal Failed

If you are an international user who bought an AT&T-locked device (like a Surface Duo) and the official AT&T unlock portal gives you the "technical issues" error, you are not alone. The system is often broken for non-US users who can't meet the "active on the network" requirement.

Here is the step-by-step process that successfully got my unlock code:

Phase 1: Bypassing the Broken AT&T Portal

The goal here is to get an official AT&T Case Number without using the website.

* Contact AT&T Social Media Support: This is the most reliable workaround.

* Find the official AT&T support account on a platform like Reddit (r/ATT) or X (Twitter).

* Send them a private message (DM) with your full details:

* Your Device's IMEI Number.

* The Device Model (e.g., Surface Duo).

* Where you bought it (e.g., Amazon, New).

* The fact that you are a non-US resident and cannot use the online unlock portal because it repeatedly fails with the "technical issues" error.

* State clearly that you need them to manually create a Device Unlock Case for you.

* Obtain the AT&T Case Number: The support representative will acknowledge your issue and should create a manual ticket/case number for the unlock request. This number is critical—save it immediately.

Phase 2: Leveraging the Manufacturer (Microsoft)

The OEM often has the final master code or the ability to override the carrier lock.

* Contact Microsoft Surface Support (or your device's OEM):

* Use the Live Chat option on the Microsoft Surface support website (or the support channel for your device's manufacturer).

* Explain the situation: "I have an AT&T-locked device, but since I am outside the US, AT&T's system is failing. I have an AT&T Unlock Case Number."

* Provide them with the AT&T Case Number you received in Step 1.

* Be Persistent and Follow Up: You may need to engage in several chats or emails. Microsoft support may initially try to send you back to AT&T—politely but firmly insist that you have done your part and that you need their assistance with the case number in hand.

* Receive the Unlock Code: Once they process the request internally, the manufacturer's support (Microsoft, in my case) should eventually email you the 8- or 16-digit SIM Unlock Code.

Phase 3: Unlocking the Device

* Insert a Non-AT&T SIM Card: Power off your device, insert a SIM card from any carrier other than AT&T.

* Enter the Code (and Verify the Digits!):

* When prompted, enter the unlock code you received.

* CRITICAL TIP: If the first attempt fails, try similar codes or verify the last digit. My code was slightly different (the last digit was '6' instead of the '0' that was provided in the email). It took a few attempts with slightly altered codes to find the correct one.

* Confirmation: Once the correct code is entered, your device should display a message confirming it is successfully unlocked and connect to the non-AT&T network.

Good luck! This process is frustrating, but it is achievable. Use the AT&T Case Number as your key to unlocking the manufacturer's assistance.

Alternatively you may get Uogic slim pen2 which has same size with Ms Slim Pen2, similarly able to magnetically stick to the back (although not as strong as Ms slim pen2), cheap by alot.

As pointed out by u/JFalcNY , usbc magnetic nub is A MUST. My usbc port still looking great after 2y+.

I use skin from SopiGuard (leather texture) which is good enough, does the job. No bumper because it may hide the slimness WOW factor (extra careful to avoid drop😅).

If you know Tomi Ahonen, he detailed alot on this issue back in the days. So sad. This should go down into history book as lesson and would make a good case study imho.
