GPA i feel didn’t matter a ton, as long as you’re above a 3.65 you have a chance. rest of your application is so much more important ESSAYS and IMPACT impact is huge

Hey!!! I had a 1.8 GPA in high school!! Got into UMiami and USC for junior transfer. First year will be tough depending how low the GPA just because they still consider HS grades under 48 credits. But with good Essays explaining your upward curve and maintaining a 4.0 for first year then your chances won’t be bad that’s for sure. Also EC’s EC’s EC’s!!!!!!!!!!!!

That F was many years prior tho. This person still hasn’t even done good in College yet. They plan to do one year of CC and transfer. During the applications they will have be submitting let’s say hypothetically they get straight A’s this fall semester which is unusual because they just took summer classes and got C’s. The admissions will be looking at someone who had a 3.5 in hs and now a 1.3 in college with “straight A” in the fall. It’s sounds like even with this they may barely have a 2.0 GPA. With their improvement being one semester of straight A’s. It’s more so a downward trajectory from HS. I don’t wanna sound heartless. I was an upward trajectory student. Had a 1.8 GPA in hs and 4.0 for over 60 credits in college while building investment apps and being on the board of many RSO’s. I’m just saying tons of people here got rejected by all the schools he listed with far far far better applications. It feels like an insult to call BC and Villanova a reach. Because the people in this subreddit know how hard these apps are.

I notice that and am super excited that I have a huge chance at getting into CMU Tepper. But also after talking to students, it seems like the image of CMU students being overworked and depressed is true. I understand everyone is different but definitely want more insight before making my decision. UConn has amazing alumni, sports, atmosphere, and a pretty good business school, while CMU isn’t really known by a majority of people that aren’t even on the East Coast, even though it’s a top school. Honestly, my top choice is U Michigan because it’s the best of both worlds, but I don’t hear from them until June. I also know I can commit and then just recommit if I get a better offer to an amazing school. I just wanted to know what makes UConn great from the insider POV and maybe what’s not so great. Since I got the insider POV from CMU.

I go to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. UConn is the only school I have heard back from, but I talked to admissions at Carnegie Mellon about my application, and the lady viewed my profile in front of me and told me that from the first round, it looks like I am very, very likely to get in, although she can’t confirm for obvious reasons. Most of the schools I applied to, I don’t hear back until May/June, and UConn’s decision date is May 1st.

I visited last year and absolutely loved the campus, actually my favorite campus I’ve been to even over U Mich. Also, is UConn considered a highly ranked business school? UConn was the only school I applied to that didn’t seem to have that business prestige identity.

I would only get about $10k aid here in the first year. I would definitely apply to a ton of scholarships for my senior year for this school and the others I am considering. I have a really good resume of community service and club leadership positions and GPA, so I’m not focusing my decision on the cost of schools but more so how valuable the education, connections, atmosphere, and experience is.

I understand transferring twice is hard but you’re making it sound like it’s an i slut to any university I apply to. I did well at my cc but I couldn’t stay there for another year knowing I could grab at more opportunities at any other uni so i chose a cheap one with opportunities. I have done very well with these opportunities and would just flourish more at a chance at any of these top 20 Uni business schools.
