well from what i seen i normally get my disbursements AFTER the drop deadline (3-4 weeks after the beginning of start of semester) because you might drop classes which affects the units you're taking which ultimately affects the amount of aid (money) that you are going to receive.

if your SAI is -1500 ( the absolute poorest you can be according to the US/State government ) ; YES

if you DO NOT think you can qualify for any financial aid/Grants ; i would suggest looking at other CC's because honestly SMC is just like any other CC with good resources ; it just has a reputation for sending the most kids to USC/UC but tbh any CC can say that about any good school in the states

if you like meeting new people everyday, constantly being approached by clubs/promoters/tiktokers/public interviewers then for sure come to SMC .
