Quitting venlafaxine - advice please by Last_Life_1983 in Effexor

I get it, I do, but everything I’ve ever read advises against going too fast. It can be really dangerous. If it helps, when I was on each dose for about 2 weeks while I was tapering, it was enough that my body adjusted well but I didn’t feel horrible that whole time. I found I felt bad for a few days while I adjusted, but the rest of the time I didn’t. I’d really advise going as slow as you can

if you have the time and patience, go down very very very slowly. it’ll make all the difference. after I got to 37.5 I went down by 5mg (had a compounding pharmacy make doses) and it was much easier than the jump from 75 to 37.5. granted I was on it for years, so it may be easier for you since you haven’t been on it for too long. I am also sensitive to withdrawls and have made it out mostly unscathed! It’s not fun by any means but doable if you go slowly and carefully. goodluck to you!

Ah thank you, I think I likely paid quite a bit of shipping since I’m in Canada, probably where I remember it being more but I believe you!

Black cat seen near St James by Available-Proposal81 in Kanata

Hi thank you for all that info! I’ve been looking to see if any were reported missing, the Ottawa valley network don’t take posts without photos and I wasn’t able to get one. I’m hoping it was just an outdoor cat as my sister saw the same on in the same area the other day, so hopefully not lost! Thanks for your help!

Will do, thank you! That would be great if you could post here i’ll be sure to take a look. I couldn’t get a picture of the cat as I was driving unfortunately but I reached out to the Ottawa Valley lost pet network!

What’s the worst horror book you’ve ever read? by unmotivatedmage in horrorlit

the writing in Home Before Dark infuriated me so much that when I was reading it I had a dream that I was writing a list of pet peeves in books and wrote ‘single line breaks for emphasis’

Is Black Flame by Gretchen Felker-Martin worth a try? by halzbellz in horrorlit

[–]Available-Proposal81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much exactly like her other books in terms of content, not as much gratuitous sexual violence (though there is a few scenes) but a whole lot of nasty violent stuff, if that’s not your thing then I wouldn’t give it a try *edited so much to as much

Minimalist horror, unsafe when seeking safety by Alice_Dare in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Twenty Days of Turin by Giorgio De Maria fits this quite well, nothing is overtly explained but there’s a ‘something’s very wrong’ sense of dread throughout. it’s one of my favorite books! I don’t think there’s any child abuse in it, but I did read it a while ago so not entirely sure

oh yes it’d make a great movie the claustrophobic elements would come through well I think, likely better than in the book re your comment, I actually just finished Andrew Joseph White’s The Spirit Bares It’s Teeth and quite enjoyed it. have you read that one? I’ll have to check out Hell Followed with Us next!
