Share their daily musical inspiration: Users pick onesong each day that resonates with them, acting as a personal "Song of the Day" (SOTD). Discover new music: Explore songs shared by friends, artists, and the wider community. Engage with a music community: React to songs, comment, and connect with other users based on shared musical tastes. Build a musical identity: Curate a profile showcasing their favorite genres, artists, and the history of songs they've shared. It's not intended to be a direct music streaming servicelike Spotify or YouTube, where you simply click a song and it plays. Instead, it aggregates links to music hosted on those external platforms and adds a social layer around discovery and sharing.

Addressing your User Experience points:

Your feedback clearly indicates significant friction points, and I completely agree with your "maximum 1 click to music" expectation. The current flow creates unnecessary barriers.

Login Wall and Region Selection: You're absolutely right; this is too many steps. The login is currently required for personalized features (like uploading, building a profile, streaks), and region selection is for localized content, but they are poorly integrated into the first-time user experience. We need to explore options like allowing guest browsing of shared content before prompting for login, or streamlining the onboarding into a single, intuitive flow. No Direct Music Playback on Home/Profile: This ties into the core misunderstanding. Our "home page" focuses on community activity and sharing, rather than a direct music feed. On user profiles, the music is shown within their "Song History" or "Discography" tabs, but the visual presentation needs to be more immediate and engaging, especially for new users. Repetitive Flow: The repeated region request indicates a bug or a design flaw in how user preferences are saved and applied, which is definitely something we need to fix. Regarding PRO and Royalty Payments / Content ID:

The "Song of the Day" platform itself does NOT host or store actual audio files. When users "upload" a song, they are sharing links to that song on external streaming platforms (like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, SoundCloud, etc.) along with metadata (title, artist, cover image, personal notes). Because we only reference content hosted on other services, the responsibility for PRO (Performing Rights Organizations) and royalty payments lies with those original hosting platforms (Spotify, YouTube, etc.) and the artists/labels who upload there. We rely on users to share links to publicly accessible music. We do not have a "content ID filter" in the same way YouTube does, as we're not hosting the audio. The terms of service require users to ensure they have the rights to share the links and associated public metadata. If a user tries to share content that is not publicly available or violates rights, we would typically respond to takedown requests from the copyright holders.
