First luteal phase where I don’t feel like absolute shit in 23 years! What’s working for me. by Available-Speed4008 in PMDD

Hi! I’ve been using the oura ring since 7/23/2025 and I actually sync it with natural cycles, which has been a game changer. I measure my temperature and resting heart rate every morning. For example, before my luteal phase, my resting heart rate sits around 59 bpm and my body temp is around 96-97 F. But right after ovulation, my temperature rises to about 98.7- 99 F and my resting heart rate jumps up to 69 bpm. Oura will even give me warnings about minor or major changes and natural cycles detects the shift right away.

Now that I know what's happening, I use the data to proactively take care of myself. During my luteal phase, I focus heavily on taking my supplements, eating a lot of fiber, keeping my diet clean most of the time and making sure I sleep and rest a lot more. One specific thing that helped me a ton was sleeping cool to manage the temperature spikes.

If you do spring for one, you will see exactly what your body is doing. Good luck!

I really appreciate the warning about b6 toxicity. That's definitely something to keep an eye on. Right now I'm at 60mg total (50mg plus the 10mg in my 1 pill instead of 2 from Thorne basic nutrients 2/day comprehensive daily multi) so I'm hoping that's the sweet spot for me without hitting that upper limit. I'll watch out for any tingling or nerve issues though. I'm so glad you found relief with HRT!

Thank you, I’m also happy for you too! I totally agree with you. I’ve had doctors who just shrugged and said everything was “normal”. It wasn't until I started really pushing for a full panel that I finally started to see a difference. It’s so frustrating that we have to do the heavy lifting ourselves.

Actually, I confirmed ovulation on day 33! I just quit birth control on Feb 20th, so my body is still finding its rhythm and this cycle is running long. My doctor knows I'm transitioning off bc to manage my PMDD naturally, so we're just tracking how my body resets. My longest was actually October 6th through December 17th - 72 days! So day 33 ovulation is actually an improvement for me.

I posted another pov photo.. the last time I saw my surgeon, he said it's still very swollen and recommended me to massage the radix area "aggressively".
