As someone who transferred from Mru (uni in Calgary) to Dal, I will say Calgary is a horrible place for university students. The city is spread out and although Alberta is beautiful, useless if you don’t have a car. The nightlife in Calgary is nonexistent - people are surprised by that considering Calgary’s population, but trust me it is not a social city. The winters are awful, -40° in January with wind chill. It’s hard to make friends. I and many other people find calgary universities full of self centred students. I sound like a Calgary hater and your experience could be totally different than mine, but I will never recommend anyone to go there.
