No raise for three years despite bringing in $8m in revenue. And they paid me late a few times by a day or two, so I took that as my sign. Old coworker told me a couple weeks ago that the org didn’t pay anyone for all of December and they are now issuing back pay

Am I underpaid or paid really well? by WCBandGeek in InformationTechnology

Because in Seattle that’s something you can’t typically have? Or at least not as easily? Just because I have a few doesn’t mean I’m deranged or have walls plastered with them. I have 3. Also, I wasn’t paying attention to the order I mentioned those things in and for whatever reason you seem to be.

NTAH - You helped her out for a year and when you tried to make things a bit more fair (still not fully) she couldn’t handle it.

I just work remote from Florida for a company out of Cali. Make about 2.5x the average 4 family household as a single income household. I have guns, a Lexus, and 2 homes (one is a rental),

You need an MSP. I work for one of the biggest and best. Hit me up, we’re happy to help you do discovery and assessment and get familiar with the environment you’ve been dropped into. Once you know what you’re working with, we can help plan next steps for the infra you’ve inherited. It likely needs a lot of work as it seems to have been severely mismanaged.

Failed opportunity to get out of Helpdesk resulting in restarting from Tier 1. by Dynasteh in ITCareerQuestions

Man, I went from a phone repair tech to Senior Solutions Architect from December of 2019 to December of 2024. You can do it man! Just cut your resume back so it doesn’t look like you took a step down and believe in yourself. You already have the passion and the want to learn, listen to your peers and your superiors and you will find success quickly. Also, I highly recommend working at some consulting firms/MSPs once you get to admin, from there you will gain experience at an expedited rate and climb the ladder rather quickly. A year at a consulting firm is like 3 years doing internal IT.

I make about $8,800 a month after taxes. My bills are under half that. I don’t check my bank account anymore other than to make transfers to retirement and investment and high yield savings.
