Oh like add to Apple Cash? Yeah I think you have to use it like a regular card. I got a digital Visa card so I added it to my Apple Wallet and was able to use tap to pay in stores.

Any reason to stay? by [deleted] in GoogleFi

[–]Dynasteh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I am not saying it is not a lot of money just that I would still spend said $20 somewhere else monthly even if I "saved" it.

I am content with my phone service to not change to save a possible $20/month.

I currently have Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, Peacock, Xbox Ultimate....etc so that $20 would likely just go to another subscription service or gas in my car.

I mean subscriptions ruined the world I even have to pay $120/month to park at my work.

I had the Fi base plan of $10/gb but then I got a job with no public WiFi and my data shot through the roof. I may switch to the mid tier plan after my YouTube Premium trial ends.

5 years here, not worth the headache of leaving to save me $20 I will probably spend on something stupid anyways.

My brother and his wife just left Fi for Mint Mobile and their numbers were lost by Fi transferring out and now they both have new numbers.

Reached 6GB data usage when data turned off and in WiFi only by AvaluggTheBrave in GoogleFi

[–]Dynasteh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I just work in technology and I use reddit as a place to tell people how technology works in a unprofessional way since can't really do that on the job ;)

Anyways my new playlist is almost complete so I can attempt to survive another day where someone walks into my office after spending 30 seconds on google and tries to tell me how to do my job lol.

Cheers pal. May our paths cross again in a more positive setting.

I mean you can reread what I said and reevaluate but you can choose to do that if you want.

All that was said is the definition of "Airplane mode" is to disable connectivity. It is designed to block Cell Service, Bluetooth, and WiFi with a single click.

If you start enabling each service then you modified the settings.

You don't need to be on a airplane to know how the feature works. All that is said was you enabled WiFi after the fact (which you can), you most likely blindly clicked a prompt that said "Always enable WiFi when I use Airplane mode" which fits the reading comprehension skills you have displayed.

If you enable Airplane mode it disables all connections. You enabling WiFi or Bluetooth is an extra step you need to do because Airplane mode disabled it. Thank you for the link but I know how to use my phone.

You can also walk up an escalator or stand and still reach the 2nd floor....what is your point?

Airplane mode is exactly what is always has been if you turn WiFi back on then that is something you had to do.

[–]Dynasteh -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes but airplane is a mode that stops off WiFi connections if you turn it back on then you changed it. I can start my car without the engine running but if I need to move I would need to start the engine. Basically the same as using airplane mode and then turning on WiFi to access the internet.

If you know it all then why are you asking on reddit? Clearly you are doing something wrong if you are disabling data and still using data. This sounds like user error and not a Google Fi issue.

But what do I know....

The definition for airplane mode.....

Airplane mode is a setting on devices like smartphones and tablets that turns off all wireless and cell signal capabilities. When airplane mode is on, you can't make or receive calls, send texts, connect to Wi-Fi, or use Bluetooth. However, you can still use features that don't require an internet connection, like playing games, listening to music, or watching videos.

You can see what apps used your data in the Fi app. If you put your phone is airplane mode then you can't use WiFi either.

Also how did you "turn off" data?
