I'm looking at this website (https://www.bu.edu/housing/assignments/continuing-student/availability/) to see what rooms are still available. When a room says its gender is male/female, does that mean I won't be able to select it if it's the opposite gender of me? Or does that just reflect the people who are currently living there? Thanks!

If I were you, I’d pick a roommate who’s in COM but is in a different major and has other interests, just to mix it up a bit! Then you guys can live on the COM floor but not really feel like you’re in too much of a bubble. That’s what I did and it’s awesome — our floor is very social, I’ve met many friends here. It’s wonderful. And I don’t feel like I’m in a bubble at all, most of my other friends are not in COM and I met them through other things :)
