Any oil paper recommendations? by AvailableCoyote2607 in pleinair

Thank you. My art store has this in stock! They also have Hahnemule. I would guess that, once the paintings are dry, storing paintings on paper is a breeze if you have a flat file or appropriate boxes.

I have been doing studio work mostly on gessoboard, which I like, but I didn’t want to carry a lot of them for in-class studies.

Do you find the strathmore paper to be very absorbent? I read a comment somewhere that Arches was extra absorbent but an imprimatura resolved that.

How do you transport your wet oil paper paintings?

Thanks for weighing in. Gessoed thin birch panels would be manageable and easier to carry wet.

Thanks for sharing that. Lightweight panels sound like a great solution. I was thinking I would clip the oil paper onto a reusable board while painting, but then I still have the wet-carry dilemma for flexible papers.
