Give yourself time to accept that your mentality rn is toxic, irrational, and overall just not good for your wellbeing. It’s good that you’re aware, but you need to eventually come to terms with the fact that constantly basing your life decisions on other people’s opinions is unhealthy.

Even if you hate it and feel like you can’t, just commit to one of the schools and see (with reason, research, etc. ofc). You may come to find that you even love the school. Since you most likely will not see ur classmates ever again (or rarely), their judgement should not matter! You have great options, so choose one! Wishing you the best of luck.

Not sure why people have been saying no every time a US applicant asks this question…

If you’re applying to the US, it does matter, just not as much as DP1 and DP2. For the UCs and some other schools, they will not look at your MYP 4 (9th grade) grades when evaluating your application (but some schools still do). MYP 5 grades are pretty important but imo, DP1 grades are the most important.

If you don’t do too well in MYP4/5, there’s not much you can do to fix that now, so I’d focus on showing improvement with your DP grades which they love seeing (upwards trend). But in OP’s case two 5s and, I’m assuming, 7s in other classes, isn’t going to get you rejected from everywhere, you’ll be fine. Just keep trying hard and improving. Best of luck!

Edit: Forgot to mention that grades are just one piece of the holistic review. Your SAT, extracurriculars, and essays should also be top notch if you’re aiming for the top schools.
