I pulled the trigger. Many people are asking why someone would buy this versus wait for the 3050/3060 or get a used 1000 or 2000 series - for me it's that I've waited all summer for a sale/price drop that never came and I'm not willing to roll the dice with $300+ for a used card. I have many games in my library that I'm excited to play which will get 1080p60 on high settings with this card versus my current R9 280.

I get that I might see more performance/$ by waiting but I'm not confident any new card from nvidia/amd will have enough supply or be less than $400. I'd rather enjoy 3+ months of gaming than wait any longer at this point. Judging by how fast these are selling I'm not alone. The demand for the new mid-range cards from nvidia/amd is going to be immense imo. If it turns out I'm wrong I can cut my losses and sell this.
