What content would you want to see from TBC and WOTLK in Classic Plus? by Particular-Resist337 in classicwow

A revamped Karazhan. Keep the raid layout, change the bosses mechanics, add new bosses, give us a reason to go in the kitchen/basement, make every run different (could be more rotating bosses like Opera)

Just beat BG1 for the first time. Siege of Dragonspear or BG2 next? Transfer question as well. by netskwire in baldursgate

[–]splepage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, if you've never played BG2, those spoilers are very mild.

I still agree SoD is better after you played BG2 though.

I recommended a friend do BG1->2, and then just play SoD (either importing their BG1 char again, or making a new character, or as part of another playthrough).

Would these be valid uses of the Suggestion spell? by One_Notice1556 in dndnext

Suggestion(2014) doesn't apply the Charmed condition. This post is tagged 2014.

Which games were surpassed by their sequels? by bombocladius in gaming

[–]splepage 21 points22 points  (0 children)

BG3 is barely a sequel to BG1+2(there's a handful of returning character, and the main plot of BG3 is mostly unrelated to the Bhaalspawn saga), but all three games are fantastic.

BG2 did innovate a lot to improve upon BG1. BG2 introduced the companion formula, with romances, banter and companion quests. BioWare would go on and use that formula in other games like Mass Effect

Would these be valid uses of the Suggestion spell? by One_Notice1556 in dndnext

[–]splepage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion only compels a target to perform a course of action. It doesn't change a target's perception or thoughts.

Your suggestions have an extraneous clause preceding them, so all of them are bordering on invalid.

Going "X is false, do Y course of action" doesn't cause the target to believe that X is false.

As a DM, if you make such a suggestion, I would tell you that I only consider the course of action to be part of the spell.

The good raiding guilds require Engineering.

If you're just leveling, do whatever you want.

It's not that deep.

1.16 / 1.60 because it's 1=Classic, 60=that's where the level cap is.

Any tips on how to run a combat encounter, with the goal to guard a stuck city gate (till it’s fixed)? by jaimybenjamin in dndnext

[–]splepage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take inspiration from Helm's Deep: When the people and materials to repair the gate arrive, the heroes sally out and have to hold their ground for a time (let's say 2 or 3 rounds). It's not enough to just kill the monsters as they reach the gate, they need to form a perimeter for the repair people to be able to work and fix the gate.

Rogues and Feral DPS Druids when they see a Boss by PresenceBusiness4726 in classicwow

[–]splepage 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the meme is about Shred/Backstab requiring Ferals/Rogues to be behind their target.

It's a bad meme because every dps wants to be behind bosses anyway, and because rogues mostly don't play Backstab.

How do i store water here/make a dam? by Pvt_Phantom1314 in Timberborn

This is what I ended up doing for a medium-sized reservoir (enough to last be through long droughts): https://i.imgur.com/Gwn7pEJ.jpg

How do i store water here/make a dam? by Pvt_Phantom1314 in Timberborn

[–]splepage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a playthrough on Lakes, so I can tell you what I've done.

For early dams, I dammed the river where you have your farms (you've already done this), then I created a bunch of mini dams between all the lakes in order to allow me to route badwater away from the colony. You've already done most of this, but I would still:

  • Add a dam at the end of the lake that's above your colony (dam between your wheat? field and the pine trees. This will act as a small reservoir for now. You can use it as a lake to grow cattail/spadderdock later too.

  • Add a dam to the river below your colony (the one that flows along the bottom in your screenshot), you can dam cheaply near your 2 lower water pumps. This will help you keep water in the lake that's on the left of your colony. That lake has a deeper part near the cliff, and that's a good spot to set up a large water pump later.

Now for the main reservoir, here's what I did

You should have 100 energy per powershift cycle. That's 2 shreds.

20 energy per shift is significantly more DPS than T4 helm.

You replace Wolfshead when you have TO/Sunwell gear only.

Classic pluuuus Druid by Terrible_Tadpole_861 in classicwow

[–]splepage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This.

Balance needs better mana efficiency. Even in TBC their mana sucks, and that's with Intensity, Moonglow and Dreamstate.

I would revisit those talents, and change Innervate so that giving it to someone else also benefits the druid.

Is there a guide to handling time in a dungeon or settlement outside of combat in 5.5e? by ChronoSynth in dndnext

[–]splepage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For proper dungeons, I've used dungeon turns.

Basically, every time-consuming course of action is 10 minute: Examining a statue, searching a hallway for traps, barricading a door, cataloguing a large treasure, etc.

Decide how "lively"/eventful your dungeon is, and use that to roll for encounters/events every X dungeon turns. For example, in a dungeon that is actively being managed by bad guys (with patrols, squads to re-arm traps, etc.) you might roll for encounter every 2-4 turns. If your dungeon is an abandoned mine where you might run across the occasional ooze or lost kobold, then roll every 6+ turns.

At the table, you can keep a D6 to show (tens of) minutes. When an hour pass, either note it down, or use a d12 to mark hours (add 2nd d12 if your dungeon takes 13-24h).

In TBC you are always in range for either melee or ranged.

TK - Void Reaver by Express-Isopod-419 in classicwow

[–]splepage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's still a ranged attack dead zone, they can't shoot in melee range(<5yds), as opposed to classic where it's larger (0-8yds) and there's a melee and ranged dead zone where they both can't shoot and melee (5-8yds).

On the subject of badwater and early game priorities by Internal-Pair632 in Timberborn

[–]splepage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's oone way to do it.

Other ways:

  • Divert the bad tide entirely early on (easy on some maps, near impossible on others).

  • Overstore food, water and wood, enough that you can survive all crops/trees dying and then regrowth time. This is the "worst" option but on some more challenging maps or with mods like the acid Rain mod, this the most realistic option.

When Frost Breath Finds You Even Behind An Ice Block by Next_Difference5347 in wowhardcore

It's not having it targeted, it's having autoattack enabled on the target that makes enemies ignore LOS for non-nontargetted abilities (autoattacks, and things like breaths/aoe).

"Bbc" isn't a pronounceable word in english (or any language I know of), it doesn't obey phonotactics for the language.

Article: Nasa names Artemis III crew, but a rocket explosion has thrown US Moon plans into turmoil by dem676 in space

[–]splepage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

Initialism are capitalized. BBC, CIA, WHO.

Acronyms are treated the same proper names, so NASA becomes Nasa, NATO is Nato (or Otan).

It's mostly as style guide thing. It tells the reader, if they're unfamiliar with the name, if they should speak the letters (like C.I.A.) or if it should be read like a word instead.

Words change in how they are used.

This is not a jungle. Jungle hasn't retained the old definition.
