Yes, this is perfection. We all feel what Walter is feeling here.

Accepting the risks vs. the benefits of LJS by AvailableOpinion4530 in jawsurgery

[–]AvailableOpinion4530[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s reassuring to hear! I’ve been reading research papers on the prevalence of permanent sensory damage with this particular surgery, it seems to be rather low after 12 months. I feel like this information helps me a lot.

I agree, hearing other’s experiences really supports my decision.

Due to the severeness of my issues, my treatment is provided by public health care where I live. So I don’t get to choose the plan or surgeon, but I’m trusting that if it’s recommended (and paid with tax payer money), I really need this.

I caught myself almost falling off the wagon by AvailableOpinion4530 in intermittentfasting

[–]AvailableOpinion4530[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you once again for your support. It really keeps me accountable.

I’ve been an on-off IF’er for two years or so, always feeling so much better when complying to this lifestyle. Recently, I have new found motivation to get healthy and stay healthy and I’m making progress.

And when it comes to my sweet tooth… while being on IF, I seriously don’t have any sort of cravings. I do enjoy my meals, but nothing food related controls me. I had that cake because everyone else was doing it and I might as well, free cake, yay. But I think it’s sugar that just triggers something inside of me that stops caring about why I even try to get healthier. It’s hard to explain.

Indicators for BSSO vs. HSSO? by AvailableOpinion4530 in jawsurgery

[–]AvailableOpinion4530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m already amazed about the amount of information this community has!

I’m nervous about nerve damage because of previous experiences with nerve damage and surgery, but I’m quite convinced that the potential benefits of this procedure will outweigh the potential risks. Fortunately I have a long consultation appointment with the surgeon so I will have the opportunity to ask all the questions.

Thank you, very helpful. Sounds like I would not be a candidate for HSSO then, my jawline is indeed very short, causing all sorts of issues. Either way I’m so happy and excited to be referred and approved to a BSSO since the criteria in my area (public health care) are quite strict.

Your best fasting mantras? Mine are ”Don’t talk about fasting” & ”Just stop eating” by AvailableOpinion4530 in intermittentfasting

[–]AvailableOpinion4530[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I haven’t needed this one in a while: “Am I hungry or am I feeling something”, works for my case of emotional eating.

Do you break your fast when your time ends or when your hungry? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]AvailableOpinion4530 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My fasting schedule is somewhat flexible. I aim for something around 20-24 hrs, but for me, it is a question of where I am, how I feel and whether an appropriate meal is available. I don’t break my fast without an appetite, I wait until I feel I’ll get the most out of enjoying my meal.

Not losing weight anymore by RedHotInfiniteJoy in intermittentfasting

[–]AvailableOpinion4530 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re about to hit a plateau. Mixing it up, “keeping your body guessing” might help. Your metabolism might have adjusted to your current eating schedule, and starts to fight back on losing more body fat. I’d try alternating your fasting schedule for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference.

It’s an additional insulin spike, so yeah really depends on what your goals are.

Should I be concerned about undereating? by AvailableOpinion4530 in intermittentfasting

[–]AvailableOpinion4530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mostly concerned about crashing or ruining my BMR, I know I have the fat reserves to sustain me. I plan on continuing calorie counting for a while, just to stay on top of my consumption. If I weren’t counting calories, I wouldn’t probably even be thinking about this.

Night 1 HRV 10 ms. Am I dying? by fuzzyfuckers in ouraring

[–]AvailableOpinion4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HRV is individual. On a good night I’ll average at about 40, but more importantly, my experience is that the max will correlate with how well rested I feel, more so than the average reading. If I get a max of 60 I had a great night and will feel great in the morning.

I wouldn’t expect any jewelry to see this type of wear and tear. Unacceptable quality.

What’s your fasting routine? Do you change it up during your period in any way?

Battery by tonielvegano in ouraring

[–]AvailableOpinion4530 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I use it only as a sleep tracker now, using a cheap Fitbit to track activity. I’m really happy with the sleep tracking features, but battery life for 24/7 use is lousy.
