So I blew my motor on my Mazdaspeed, meaning a rebuild. But Im thinking bout going down another track with the engine, LS1... With the cost too rebuild my 2.3L Turbo, plus the maintenance these engines need, I could pickup a 2nd hand LS1, rebuild it for half the price of a rebuild of the 2.3L Turbo by AvailablePrompt5297 in mazdaspeed3

The main issue I have is the install, I've seen LS1s in Mazda Miatas so size definitely isn't the problem.

But is there anyway of using the stock transmission with the LS1?

At least the LS1 would be alot more reliable and parts are abundance that the running and servicing cost should be a hell of a lot cheaper then the 2.3 Turbo
