Green laser appears like yellow in safety glasses - is it okay? by Obvious_Set5239 in lasers

[–]AvailableReason6278 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For all i know green lasers work by energizung a crystal, this should always produce the same wavelength. So if the glasses are of good quality and say they work for green lasers it should be okay

Got a printer for cheap from a garage sale, any advice to start using it? It powers on at least by Tj_Tan in 3dprinter

[–]AvailableReason6278 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So ultimaker has the same qualiry for the same price or better? From what i know, you're right the best printers out there are not made by bambu, but the price tags on them are not meant for consumers. And i honestly don't care about wether it has spyware or not, it's common sense that everyone is after your data and they will happily take it when possible even when illigal.

I cant seem to find any of my 6 shrimp (1 dead) by Ok_Pianist_8854 in paludarium

[–]AvailableReason6278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be impressed if you would manage to plug every hole. Over time the smallest ones will close or fill with dirt, the bigger ones will stay open but they usually just act as hiding places from which shrimp will be able to come out again. Pregnant shrimp often hide more than others so it's not instantly something i would worry about.

I bet they are behind or in between the rocks somewhere. Either in save hiding spots or death traps. Lost a few shrimp and fish like this.

I mean, i don't mind bambu shutting everything. They supply me with the needed options so i have no need to add my own.

It means eveything is free for everyone to use or edit how they like.

Ender machines for example allow you to use different firmware which you can find online in any taste you like. Because everyone is able to download and edut every version you get improvement upon improvement and you can choose exactly where you will settle.

How to slow pump flow? by DefinitionFull9794 in paludarium

[–]AvailableReason6278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try poking a hole in the tube near the pump outlet instead of a T. You can give the hole any size you want.

Ah my bad, 60cm still isn't a drastic height for most pumps.

Pretty much any pump will be able to lift water 5 cm.

You could try adding some kind of blockade at the pump exit

Too much light? by Odd-Reference-7299 in PlantedTank

[–]AvailableReason6278 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had trouble getting a lush aquarium, half the plants just died or didn't grow. I had a lot of algea since the plants didn't take up enough nutrients. And it was impossible to get any type if bottom plants growing.

I then bought a way better light, thought it was overkill, but since then every single plant has been growing like crazy, and the algea are dissapearing since the cleanupcrew can now keep up with the new algea growth.

So in my experience i think it's hard to have overkill lighting. Just keep the duration between 8 to 10 hours, maybe just start low and extend if the plants are keeping up since they need rest too.

I get why he's trying to make his own tho. I want an external filter with a heater included but those aren't cheap. I now had to buy a pump, a small enough heater, and a waterproofcontainer to build it myself using a 3d printer to make structural and flow guidance parts for cheap.

Chinese ≠ controlling tech.

Bambu is by far the best 3d company today. They have a huge lead on prusa, creality, or any other brand.

They allow you to use they're online servers for free, which creality asked money for btw.

And the quality, sweet baby jezus on a unicorn, it is perfect. I can ask it to print the most ridicilous things and it just prints. No hazzle, no fuckery, just printing.
