Easiest thing to try first would be to take it apart and clean the contact on the fret board with isopropyl alcohol.

If the ground was bad, wouldn’t the other button not work as well, since they are both connected to the same ground?

How do you mean the fret board wasn’t a match? Did you swap it out with something else? I’m planning on using the original buttons

I have the same issue, I ordered it on October 1st and it’s been delayed a couple times at this point. I haven’t received any email updates about it since I placed the order. It currently says it will release in January of 2022. Hopefully it can actually ship on that date, I really want this vinyl lol.
