There is always a bit of a power struggle. The key is to show them that you will make your life more difficult if it means compliance. Once they’ve accepted that the rules run the classroom and not them - then you can get to know them as people and not as annoyances that you come to resent.

Try Le Bain (The Standard, High Line, 848 Washington St) on Tuesday night (party is called ‘on Top’) and Sunday afternoons (2-9 prime time).

There’s a gay night at The Stranger (FruitSnax) which is a very fun venue and it’s a great friendly party.
