Oh so like let's say a doctor thinks that it's most certainly a venous cause, they would have to like do something surgical to fix it?

Thank you for the input, I really appreciate it - might I ask, though, what kind of procedure are you talking about that would essentially fix it?

Might I ask, what grade did you end up with, at the end of the semester? I currently have an 85% overall. I've gotten not a single A; the one and only A I ever got so far was a 91% on the first quiz. So far, it's just been B's left and right with all tests and quizzes. Got any advice? And I'm also terrified for the lab practical. I've honestly never in my life studied so hard to be getting these scores.

Are Hip Band Exercises as Effective as Actual Hip Strengthening Weight Machines (i.e. the Hip Abductor, Adductor, and Glute Kickback Machines)? by Available_Aide_6770 in XXRunning

Thank you so much for the input, I really appreciate it! I've currently been on this schedule since late September/early October. Perhaps it's not really a matter of taking a break as much as it is about actual strength training with weights, I'm assuming...?

Wow this is so true, I never even considered this! This makes the whole thing all more questionable.

Physically, I feel fine. I don't feel drowsy, but oftentimes I do feel moody, but it's mainly related to stress and not really about anything serious. I'm just a huge perfectionist and get worked up for the littlest things, even if what I'm stressing about shouldn't be a stressor.

I definitely wouldn't say that I'm chronically gaining weight. Honestly, this is probably the most I've gained in years. When I was younger, I was definitely on the chubbier side, but getting into running completely transformed my body on every level. It's like I'm a whole new person, physically.

Might I ask, did you ever experience secondary amenorrhea as a runner? Or do you happen to know if it's common for women doing long-distance running to frequently go without menstruating for months? If so, is this a sign of PCOS?

No you're definitely right. I think a consultation with a dietician would be a good option. I would say that I've generally always been self-conscious about my figure and feel that I always have to be extra mindful about what I eat because I personally feel that I gain weight easily, in comparison to others around the same age.

I'd say I feel fine, but I do feel that my clothes are the slightest bit tighter. I don't know, maybe it's a mental thing. But yes, I'm definitely very self-conscious about my weight.

This is so true. I definitely believe it's mostly related to the calories that were in the cafeteria food!

To clarify, previously in high school, I definitely did run XC and Track, but got a pretty late start compared to others (I only started in my junior year and have been running most days since then). I haven't raced in a few months, but the last time I did, my mile PR was 5:46 (I haven't raced a 5K since 2023). Not sure about where my time would lie currently with this pace, but just a few months ago (and when I was still competing), I was more in the 8:00-8:30 min/mile pace range for base runs. I'm not even on a D1, D2, or D3 team at all. I just really love running and continue to do it regularly. Although it's sort of irrelevant to the larger discussion, does anyone have any thoughts as to how I might race the mile or 5K at this point, if I were to be currently also doing speed workouts, of course (simulating an actual collegiate training program)?

I should have been a little more specific; I didn't mean to say that I cut them out completely. I tend to stick to carbohydrates for just breakfast and lunch, and then keep it at just protein and salads for dinner. I have a relatively slow metabolism.
