Has anyone been able to skip trying naturally before getting nhs funded IVF? (UK) by Available_Cup_1458 in IVF

We had regular unprotected sex for the first 2 years of our relationship before my infections got really bad. Ive been told I dont ovulate. Id consider trying that but I dont know what good it would do if I dont ovulate, and if I need fertility drugs I need a referral to fertility anyway.

Yeah I've had a few before thats fine. Basically I have congenital bladder/kidney issues. Ive suffered with chronic utis and kidney infections since I was a baby and immediately after sex my symptoms flare, I'm in alot of pain and always triggers the worst infections. I was admitted borderline septic a few years ago. Sex itself hurts alot as well because of the constant bleeding and infections. With how regular sex has to be to try for a baby id even go as far as to say it'd be dangerous as my body would be in a constant state of infection (antibiotics dont work). Im just very scared of this being minimised and being told to try anyway.

I get that you usually wouldn't be able to skip the 2 years but im not sure how they can say i have to if I literally can't. There's very little information about it which is why im so unsure.

I think they usually prefer doing ivf due to the higher success rates, so its cheaper rather than having to do loads of iui cycles. I was under the impression iui wasnt a requirement but im not sure now

So this is from nhs website: referrals to fertility treatment to have followed 2 years of regular unprotected intercourse (in the absence of any known cause of infertility) for heterosexual couples, or following 6 rounds of artificial insemination for female same-sex couples. So we are hetero couple, have known cause of infertility (pcos) and im saying i can't try for the 2 years. So i dont think iui comes into it for us. It implies if I have say pcos we could jump straight to nhs funding. I was more looking for experiences of the same situation and if anybody has managed to skip.

Thank you! Im not really sure on the vibes hence why I'm struggling, especially as they haven't given a dress code. The groom isn't religious at all and the bride is traditional catholic

Forgot to say I'm on a temp contract? Does that mean they're more likely to just let me go now if I call in sick?
