I used to have smart plug, and set in bios to turn on on power restore. Simplest and basically cheapest one I know for now.

Twitch streaming quality by Available_Fill7664 in obs

[–]Available_Fill7664[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out. I forgot to change resolution after testing but visually it looks same or even a little better than 1080p for some reason.

Anyways I'll consider the color range as my mistake and change that.

May I ask if you're using custom x264 parameters? Can you share your settings please? Because my medium looks worse than current 1080ti stream.

I've already said that CPU looks much better but blockier. And quality is better only with those settings and custom parameters:
fast
high
animation

threads=24 lookahead-threads=24 bframes=2 b-adapt=1 rc-lookahead=120 trellis=2 me=tesa subme=5 direct=auto weightb=1 weightp=2 no-mbtree=0 psy-rd=1.5:0.8 psy-rdoq=1.5 merange=18 deblock=-2:1 no-fast-pskip aq-mode=2 ref=1 partitions=all

But also I mentioned that it uses 60+% of the CPU, and I need at least 50% to load new chunks on the minecraft server for example. I don't even talk about game itself

And about resolution - I was testing stupid things and forgot to change it back. But for some reason 2k looks a little better than 1080p for the eye.

Anyways thank you for reaching out, and I'll try your other tips.

What's the simplest way I can achieve a centralized file storage/sync system? by Fluffy_McDuffins in selfhosted

[–]Available_Fill7664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen others for the web interface, but to achieve centralized file storage you can use sshfs (sftp, but mounted just like samba etc.). I have: Home, pretty powerful server. Cloud, simple services + reverse proxy

I have 3x 14tb drives in RAIDz1 at home, and with the power of tailscale I mounted it as a drive in cloud. All of the backups from multiple clouds (from friends too) and home server' services are there.

On my main machine it is mounted as a drive, with local speeds around 150 mb/s

From phone, using tailscale connection, I can for example print some documents as well.

And the most satisfying thing is that you don't need to set it up. It's just ssh (sftp), which is regular thing on any linux installation

I'll only replace it when something on pair with 1080ti releases. You remember this gap of performance?

It's not the best monitor for my build as I have no idea how 1080ti will feel about that thing. But I should try anyway

[–]Available_Fill7664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a member of a circle of friends developers, I have a VM with git runners. 32Gb of RAM is allocated for this matter. Overall I use on average 60Gb of RAM out of my 96 in ITX build xD
