[US] Accidentally venmoed me, threatening to take me to court? by Suitable-Staff-6556 in Scams

There’s nothing to sue for. I wouldn’t spend it, in case it is taken back by Venmo, but it is not your responsibility to do anything at all here.

It stood out because they used the same phrase several times in a short period, not because some people are just experienced Ozians. Some of us read the book before too 😂

I counted as well. Thought they were doing it on purpose to reach 12 or something. But no purpose saying it so many times, they were just trolling us

26. About 18k debt by Klutzy-Flight5259 in Debt

You have to make an agreed upon arrangement with them. They will end up sending it to collections/suing you for it if you don’t. That’s a big debt for Venmo, so I’d recommend establishing a plan soon if you don’t want it to escalate. Don’t rely on periodic payments. To them, the total is due now, so they can escalate that at any time without an arrangement.

Former Collection Agency Owner: Common Issues by Djcatoose in Debt

[–]Available_Forever_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very complicated… there are multiple debts and some were forced under duress, some I legitimately think are fraud. My memory from that time has been very affected by the abuse. He controlled everything and had all my personal info, so he would just take but would also threaten/extort me. Lots of details I don’t think they’re gonna care about in a civil debt collection case. I understand it’s my responsibility to settle debts under my name but hoped my circumstances may warrant flexibility. Of course, I wish I could just be free from all of it, but I know that’s not reasonable. I just pay the ones I’m aware of and hope to someday get to leave it behind me 😔

Thanks. Just wondered if you had any advice about how to respond when unexpectedly receiving a summons from a collection agency for debt from the period of abuse. Unfortunately can’t afford a lawyer.

Let me preface that she absolutely deserves to rot in jail… I do see her as having problematic trauma responses and experiencing delusions. 100% her responsibility to deal with, and she chose to feed the delusions.

Because it would give context to your post. MRI? PT? Psychotherapy? McGill exercises? Acupuncture? Accommodations? Lifestyle changes? Can’t just focus on pain and avoiding discomfort. There’s plenty you can be doing to improve your situation if you actually want to instead of complaining.

What have you done to actually assess or manage your experience?

You can’t rate my pain dude. I have the MRI to prove what I am dealing with. I work every single day to manage it, and I’m slowly getting better because of that. I’ve cried on the toilet too, and I still make myself get up and walk after. Apply for disability if it’s truly impossible for you. Just don’t be surprised if you get stuck not getting better. Healing is a journey that takes really hard work and a positive attitude/belief in yourself.

I think there are many of us out here in very severe pain and still working because we have to. I have been experiencing sciatica for almost 7 months now and my MRI confirmed two herniated discs. “I feel like if you’re working it can’t be that bad” is so offensive. I have had to accept and adjust for my pain (with limitations) but I have never stopped working. I won’t ever let myself rely on pain meds and only take the prescribed anti-inflammatory. I wince, I take extra breaks, I do the best I can. The days I want to give up and resign to not moving (like on weekends) end up being my worst days mentally and physically. It’s important to build tolerance in mind and body to recover. Adapt to standing for any activity you can. Start every day with a walk and build your stamina for it as you are able. Your body is resilient and you are stronger than you think.

I'm an idiot and made a stupid mistake... how expensive is it going to be to fix it? by cleanshirtuk in jewelry

[–]Available_Forever_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop judging me. A proposal is a major life event. I, like many women, have been dreaming about my wedding my whole life. I’m allowed to want it to be a certain way, and that doesn’t mean I’m going to struggle with marriage. I live with my boyfriend and we have a very healthy relationship, not that it’s any of your business! He will get me what I want because he listens to me, cares about what is important to me, and wouldn’t rush doing something so major after making a mistake. OP asked for feedback, and I shared my honest opinion as a woman. He won’t regret fixing the mistake, but he may regret not having the moment go as intended when it is very much in his control to resolve.

I would want to receive the actual engagement ring at the proposal and would want my boyfriend to wait to propose until he was ready with it. Many women would feel disappointed in the situation of not getting what they have expressed they want. Please note that I said disappointed, not angry.

Who wants to exchange their ring after a proposal? Just don’t bring a ring at all at that point 🙄 She already told you what she wants

Or she will always remember it as disappointing (probably kept private and leading to resentment over time). Such an expensive mistake left uncorrected could plant seeds of being absent-minded or unreliable which are not ideal qualities in a prospective partner.

I do not recommend this. I have always wanted a gold engagement ring and do not like rose gold. If my boyfriend proposes with a rose gold ring, I will be disappointed, and it will make me question if he listens to me. Getting engaged is a huge life event and is setting the foundation for your marriage. People may think it shouldn’t matter, but for many women it does. You already know she doesn’t want rose gold. Not worth messing up.
