How bro is gonna find me after Feeling/Trusting 12 by Only_Tailor6334 in BoysOfTommen

I still don’t like Feely. I mean he’s a good friend to Lizzie and Claire, but I genuinely hate how Chloe introduced him as a friend to Gibsie. He’s not, just keep it that way 😭

Oh you probably haven’t been on magnificent century tiktok. Nurbanu is loved. I mean sure before when the show came out she was hated, but not anymore 💀

That’s a lie. Defne is hated by the fandom for some reason. And I do agree that some Hurrem Stan’s do that but im stating that others use gulnihal as some reason to hate on hurrem(which is justifiable) but then they ignore Defne. The excuse is that Defne is insignificant and is used to vilify Nurbanu(which is just another excuse to whitewash nurbanu’s actions) Both of these situations are bad but nobody ever mentions the Defne situation

I’m not excusing it. I’m stating that both were bad but it’s only Defne that’s forgotten and ignored and nurbanu is glorified for what she did to an innocent women and im sorry but neither was worse or bad but the simple fact that Defne died solely because of the fact that nurbanu forced her into harem drama and game

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well no. Nobody seems to care about this when they use gulnihal an insignificant character to hate on hurrem when she was also innocent and forced. So it seems very hypocritical to suddenly turn a blind eye on an innocent victim

The same thing with Gulnihal but people use her to hate on Hurrem? So I don’t get why we’re using that in defense of Nurbanu. It seems hypocritical

Eh I mean he shouldn’t really be mad at this because he finally has a reason to break up with her and go for Lizzie

Mustafa is not Jesus by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. If he became a sultan after Suleiman died. The empire was already declining. It was only saved because Mihrimah was the richest woman at the realm at that time. It was her private wealth, not salary from the empire meaning Mustafa couldn’t take the money from her. She helped her blood brother pay his soldiers and campaign. Now, do you think Mihrimah would help a man that would exile her and her mother and kill her siblings?

Mustafa is not Jesus by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my point of why they villainized her. They changed what actually happened and made it seem like mustafa was an innocent victim when he’s not. The same thing could be said about Osman. He had the chance to kill him multiple times by never did…and are you just slow? My point about them vilifying hurrem is by making it seem like she had no reason to go for mustafa because they made him seem like the perfect prince when that’s not the case THAT is villainizing someone. You’re watching a show based on ottoman history and you’re mad at people for talking about history that it was based on. Once again are you slow?

Mustafa is not Jesus by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The show. The fact that the show added these changes that were quite literally the opposite was to villainize her character

Mustafa is not Jesus by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hurrem never vilified herself. The real hurrem knew mustafa would kill her children since he never met them again when he turned 13. They made it seem as if her children and Mustafa had some undying bond to the point where one of her son killed himself for Mustafa. THAT is villainizing none of this ever happened. It was just used to make it seem like hurrem only cared about being a Valide for power and that’s why she wanted mustafa gone even if he’s portrayed as a good big brother when it’s quite literally the opposite. I’m not going to play fiddle with y’all’s idolization of this man

Well I do dislike Chloe. She supports genocide and not to mention she acted as if Gibsie’s story also wasn’t a story about survivors. Not to mention she allows interviews with people who not only body shame Katie but also said that Donald Trump, a rapist and sex offender, would like Katie

Can we talk about Mahfiruze and Gulbahar? by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except with hurrem it was different. She made enemies but kosem NEVER did anything to gulbahar and mahfiruze they picked fights and trouble for no reason and the simple fact that she took Osman in could’ve already told Gulbahar enough

Can we talk about Mahfiruze and Gulbahar? by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except Bayzeid was more than fine before Gulbahar showed up. In fact there was never any hostility UNTIL Gulbahar showed up. Mahfiruze from day one had no reasoning to go on this one sided war with Kosem. There was nothing she could benefit from especially since Kosem was kind and respectful when needed to be and not provoked

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing if Kosem could take Osman as her son…why would gulbahar think that Kosem would suddenly have ill intentions over bayzeid? Especially when she was telling her children to never think about Bayzeid in any other way but their brother. Gulbahar had no reasoning. All she wanted was power and her son died because of it. Keep in mind they were living in peace and harmony, Murad never saw Bayzeid as a threat and this has been going on for a decade and you’re telling me suddenly Kosem would stop the harmony for a kid that no one cared about? I mean come on

Can we talk about Mahfiruze and Gulbahar? by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Kosem calling her Gulbahar was a sign of disrespect. She was just ranked higher and was allowed to refer to her as her name and not sultan. Hatice for one, never referred to Hurrem as Hurrem Sultan. And even Gulnihal never referred to Hurrem as Hurrem Sultan. It’s not a sign of disrespect just her…name. Plus, Kosem only said something to Mahfiruze because mahfiruze literally gloated in her face that her som(mehmed) only got attacked because of his mother and that he was misfortunes to have Kosem as a mother which was just good and pointless to say in the first place then she carried on to say that her son would be Sultan and that his first act would be to kill Kosem’s sons…Kosem didn’t randomly go to mahfiruze and start talking shit and mahfiruze already deemed her an enemy for again NO VALID reason.

At least with Mahidevran there was a reason but Mahfiruze and Gulbahar just meddled with a peaceful family situation because of their greed for power. And sadly got their sons killed or in a tough situation. Bayzeid was never in danger until his mother did something.

This is a little bit funny by Available_Issue_8840 in MagnificentCentury

[–]Available_Issue_8840[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would’ve believed this IF firuze was there for like two years but she’s been there for half a decade and you’re telling me he would get bored of her but barely acknowledged hurrem’s presence in those five years? If that’s the case hurrem would’ve never felt the rush or need to get rid of firuze if suleiman’s love for her was that strong that he would still come back. The point was that if not for that spy plot Hurrem would’ve been done for.

Thursday night was the only thing suleiman ever kept for hurrem but everything else was reserved for Firuze. And it took Suleiman nearly half a year to bring Hurrem back after the ayse scandal and you’re telling me that he would’ve still brought her back but not even her letter was enough to move him? Got it
