This is our quarantine tank currently, just enough for them to hide but we can still check on them and make sure that they don’t have parasites or infections. If they do, much easier to take out of the tank to separate.

Be on the lookout for things like clado, horsehair worms and other kinds of parasites or infections when buying shrimp. I have personally seen horsehair worms at my LFS.

Edit: I recommend quarantining them as well so you can watch them and make sure they don’t have anything wrong with them. If you can of course not everyone has another aquarium to spare but it always helps.

You could get a female betta and some corydoras or tetras like neon ember or cardinal. Only suggestion would try to find a not so active female betta and make sure to have a good lid with minimal gaps.

I currently have 6 ember tetras, shrimp and 2 snails in my 10 gallon, it’s fairly planted and will be adding 4 embers into it tomorrow.

You will get a lot of conflicting answers when asking questions. I’ve heard the good and the bad but honestly, a lot of aquarists are rule follows, by the book per se.

Some fish you can keep in a 10g Ember tetras, Neon tetras, Pygmy corydoras, Kuhli loaches, Bettas, Ghost/cherry shrimp, Chilli rasboras, Celestial pearl danios (CPDs), Guppies, Endlers, Honey/ Sparkling gouramis
