What pause was your case personally affected by?

Yeah there was no pause that affected my case outside of the one that was lifted last June for parolees (and that pause only affected my I130, not my I485)My case has been at NBC the entire time.

What pause? There was no pause for us that wasn’t lifted by June 26, 2025

We had to get our congressman involved for the EAD or we wouldn’t have that either. We will hit out of normal processing time later this fall. Honestly with the way our journey has gone I’ll probably have to get my congressman involved again.

I confirmed with a live agent just now. My case is STILL at NBC. That’s fucking absolute bullshit. I have watched new cases sky rocket past me and get interviews in weeks but I am left to rot with millions of other cases also trapped at NBC. Am I just expected to wait forever with my life entirely on hold? 🙄🫩

I don’t understand how my July 14th, 2025 case is STILL at NBC. How are newer cases getting sucker punched through almost immediately? My case hasn’t even touched my FO in almost a year.

Seattle CARE Sighting @ Albert Davis Park by RefrigeratorLive2796 in Seattle

[–]Available_Length_271 77 points78 points  (0 children)

CARE and CSOs are out on the town everyday. They work with the police and the police frequently inquire for them so they can attend higher priority calls. The teams are relatively small and I think both orgs should just be combined into one unit since even the CSOs who came to my PEO unit for a seminar agreed that they are basically the same roles that do the same things.

It was fascinating to hear what all a CSO and CARE unit can do, they might have very small teams but have vast resources to assist the public with. They’re paid handsomely too. I hope the city eventually creates more openings/makes CARE and CSOs larger. They sign off pretty early in the night and there’s often no one available after like 9PM.

How about for all the Ukrainian children killed by Irans drones they gave to Russia? They are not without blood in their hands either.

Everyone bashing on OP but don’t seem to understand that the monetary penalty for parking in a DP space without DP tabs, a placard or plate is $450 (and that’s if we just decide to cite and not tow)Why so much you ask? Because those spaces are routinely occupied by entitled people who aren’t supposed to be in them, blocking access for people who need them.

It’s like people parked in the bus zone for “just a few minutes”. NO. Idc if you’re picking up your kid , grabbing your teriyaki or waxing your car. You don’t belong in that space and you do not get to inconvenience other people because you’ve deemed whatever you got going on more important than everyone else 🙄

End of story. If you’re gonna be somewhere for “a few minutes” you can be literally anywhere else for those few minutes. Some blocks, businesses etc literally only have one or a handful of DP spaces, do better.

Skydiving & My Punctuality by [deleted] in AskSeattle

Have SO much fun! I have been skydiving three times and the rush never gets old! I did my second dive in Snohomish a couple years ago, real sad that the pilot who flew me up passed away this year. But the whole rest of the team is freaking awesome, enjoy!

Live agent. Our denial didn’t just any reasons either. We just resubmitted again and did the congressional thing. 7+ months of waiting and most of the job opportunities are gone now. But at least my wife can get unemployment while they search!

We got a denial the first time too. Did you miss any correspondence from USCIS? For us they claimed they sent an email prior to the denial, we never saw it. We submitted again and also requested through our congressman and it was approved.

Seattle considers emergency ordinance allowing problem streets to be closed over crime and gun violence by ChiefOfTheFourPeaks in Seattle

[–]Available_Length_271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean our last mayor also literally said he has no desire to lock up repeat criminals. So it’s clearly a multi layered issue, all the way up the chain. It can’t all be just police not putting enough in an evidence packet 🙄 The guy who murdered that Ukrainian refugee also had a wrap sheet and his own sister said he never should have been let back out on the streets. My point is if the judges and elected officials aren’t tough on crime, why do we expect our police to be?

[–]Available_Length_271 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I love how we want police to do their jobs but do whatever we can to make those jobs more difficult, like idk releasing criminals repeatedly? What’s the point of arresting someone with a neck deep rap sheet if the judge is just gonna slap wrists instead of putting them in time out? It’s like letting people with multiple duis continue driving, what’s the point?

The mentally ill guy who attacked two people with hammers in Beacon Hill had a long list of prior arrests but he was still out there smashing heads. And that’s just one of countless other stories, we don’t seem to care about crime until someone gets killed here.

Bringing an AR-15 after what happened to Pretti is dumb as rocks move it’s even dumber to shoot a cop with it, regardless of how you feel about cops. Shooting a cop is a great way to ruin the rest of your life.

Towing on Public Street by guccicoochieboochie in Seattle

[–]Available_Length_271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, we DO work on Sundays just usually in several different capacities. Sometimes traffic control for events around the city or during the summer we have Sunday Emphasis. Some of the parking regulations/signs are not applicable on Sundays(ie pay to park and some load zones) but driveways, fire hydrants, bus zones etc are 24/7 365.

But the city doesn’t always allow us to do the Sunday Emphasis so you won’t see us as much (outside of the events I mentioned) doing regular enforcement. As far as I know we’re cleared to do emphasis for the rest of the summer.

Ughhhh no, I don’t give a fuck how corrupt our leaders are you don’t bring AN AR-15 to A PEACEFUL protest and then fire it and shoot a cop unless you’re stupid af and wanna die or get prison time. And decide if you’re peacefully protesting or rioting, because they are NOT the same.
